Music for Homebrew Games

This forum is for discussion pertaining to homebrew and indie software for the Dreamcast, such as homebrew games, emulators/interpreters, and other homebrew software/applications. Porting requests and developmental ideas are not to be made here; you can make those here. If you need any help burning discs for homebrew software, this is the place to ask as well.

Yeah I downloaded and listened to them. Nice and clean. They have a wierd eerie happy sound to them that I've never heard before. Is that a good thing? I believe so...

PS two new tracks up at the site. one called "eeorie" (hard electronic cinematic music) and the other "rain" (ok so there's some vocals, but it's a short song anyhow)

That's what I wanted to say,our music is so different, like the Dark Side vs. the Light Side :)

I made some very dark ambient music before...but that was because I was pissed with the damn SONY PlayStation 1.

When I get (borrow) a PS One,I have two memory cards full of dark music I made in 1999...I'll upload 'em all.

It's a rarity to find "happy" music nowadays...everything sounds dark.

Oh,and that's why i hate IUMA,MP3.com and other similar sites - Instead of giving you a filesize limit and use whatever bitrate you feel is good, you're limited to crappy 128 kbps :(

MP3.com is the worst of 'em all,but was the BEST when it first started working - You got unlimited song space, unlimited uploads, you got money from others listening to your music, you got radio stations, you didn't have to pay anything monthly, and you could use Flash,HTML,and everything else on your page.
But now, they're greedy assholes, looking only for your personal information and cash. I hate them!

iuma

Post by aced411 »

Yeah but understand this. iuma.com is probably one of the most hassle free mp3 musician sites out there. I used to use mp3.com when it was new, but now it's crap like you said. 128 is good for someone who wants to preview your music. It's not like you'd burn them on a cd and distribute it. I can always send out other versions. Besides with the encoding method I use, I can barely tell the difference between 128 and the original wave (ok if I put in headphones and crank it I'll notice a little difference). Many times people use a poor encoder or use a "fast" encoding method resulting in that horrible wooshy compressed sound.

PS you're right. Not much happy music out there anymore. keep pioneering the scene and who knows what'll happen

What do YOU use? :)

Much of the music you heard is composed with only a Dreamcast :)
No PC software or other stuff, except the capturing from the DC's output and encoding which are done with my SoundBlaster Audigy 2,Sound Forge 6.0 and OggDrop XPd.
I set the encoding to highest quality, not highest speed, because I have a powerful machine and it's not too slow :)

But using fruity Loops for PC and rendering the wave in the highest quality can last 1 HOUR! for one 8-minute track :(
I need a multiprocessor high-end PC for that :)

I have something you will like, made with just Fruity Studio 4....it has something to do with the RAP music you make, except it's very funny and with explicit content :)

Shit, too much fame is so bad...
Your voice is great, but you should practice more to keep the lyrics at the exact length and timing.
I can do that well, but my voice is just not that good :)
Haven't sung for 10 years :P
When I was singing as a teenager I had great voice, but 10 years of pause made my voice much worse :)

So,now I only compose music.

Yeah I dislike doing it so i tend to get bored singing the song when i did that 2 years ago i had not done any singing for years did it first take no practice no care really so thats why its rough but still good. live i dont sound any diffrent i can sing like almost any one and that tends to be a problem ive lost my own voice.

Not like i want to do it any more but if some one needed it for a game i would do it for them.
