Errr do I have a virus?

I have in my startup a call to this thing under three different names
fkqpdbjljxn.exe
Seems like an odd name eh? So I removed them all and I am going to delete the file but just in case, is this a standard win 98 file? I don' think so nonetheless I would rather be safe than sorry. My comp has been having ram shortage problems lately that I never had b4 I think this may be the source.

Looks like just some random file name, could be a virus. Do a virus scan.

well i didn't want to say anything but, my friend (desperado/angelo) was updating the forums with new script, and the server went down right. Then he gets a phonecall that is his cousin had been shot to death so now he is kind of in morning, and until he decides to put it up I can't do anything because he has the back up and all that.

Man sitting on porch is killed in drive-by attack

St. Louis police were searching for suspects in the fatal drive-by shooting of a 20-year-old man Tuesday morning in the 1700 block of Cora Avenue, just north of Martin Luther King Drive.

The victim, Rashed Miller, 20, was killed about 11:30 a.m. while sitting on his front porch.

Miller's violent death was a shock to his relatives and neighbors in the Greater Ville neighborhood. He was thought of as a happy, fun-loving person by many people in the area, residents said.

Police gave this account of the shooting:

Miller was sitting on the porch with a friend when a white car stopped in front of Miller's house. A heavy-set man got out of the passenger door and fired several shots at Miller, who was wounded in the chest as he stood up. Miller ran into the house and collapsed. Miller's friend was not injured.

He enjoyed life," said Sam Dunn, a longtime friend of Miller's family. "He didn't like being negative. He liked to make people laugh."
Dunn, a truck driver, was among scores of acquaintances and relatives who offered condolences to the family Tuesday evening.

"He did not have a lot of friends," said Miller's sister, Nicole Lampkin, who became an officer with the St. Louis Police Department earlier this year.

Lampkin said Miller had attended Pattonville High School. He was unemployed and had been looking for a job, she said. Miller lived at the home on Cora with Lampkin and another sister.

Carlos Davis, a cousin, said Miller did not have any enemies and spent a lot of time on his computer.

"I can't believe he is dead. He was not a bad guy," Davis said.

Homicide detectives said they had no motive and no strong leads in the killing.

damn't the frikkin file says it isn't found when I try to delete it with the program, then I look in find and it is there can someone please help me

Do you have an anti-virus program?

EDIT: If you don't, then I suggest you get Norton System Works. It is fairly cheap (if you find it in the right place, you can get a legal copy for $15). It has an anti-virus program and a whole bunch of other stuff.

Try finding the file in your dos command prompt. Delete it that way.

okay guys I very much do have a virus, I deleted the offending files after having a blank dos prompt of "operating system not found" about 100x b4, I reconfigured the setting, and slammed away on f8 a bajillion times I finally got into safe mod and looked for queer files made with in the last 2 weeks and deleted. Now after deleting a particular file "mykmh.exe" whenever I try to open anything on the comp it says "the following file is necessary mykmh.exe for view file of type "application" Well I thought I erased somethign real important so I go on my sis' comp look for a duplicate of the file and lo and behold she doesn't have it

so it was indeed a virus file now I am dling norton (free trial) the thing is though that my sister when she got on network neighborhood her anti-virus software freaked out saying that launchfe.exe wasn't workingand was infected, tryed quaranting and deleting it was unable to. I need from you guys

Thanx guys it really is important I am going to run every frikkin anti virus soft ever created and get my comp clean.

hardeeharhar basta-rd virus, I swap the name ".exe" for ".bat" it seems to work okay, I am going to kill this thing though

Get avg at grisoft.com. It's a great, free antivirus.
