Quake DC

Post by SaSSO »

It says on the download page there is a way to make it the full version using my own bough Quake. How is this done, before I download it?

I think you replace your pak file with the one already in place. (ID1 folder)

You need to rip the *.PAK files from your Quake CD and place them in the ID1 directory of your Quake folder on the harddisk. Then you need to burn it either with Dream Factory or Selfboot Buddy.

I saw a triple pack of quake games on PC in a computer shop on Thursday. It was essentially all three PC quake releases in one fairly cheap (?20?) set , so try looking around for that :)
I also saw this pack used for a tenner at work

Hey, I personally like Unreal better... The engine just seems more clean to me. Anyway, I don't have a Quake disc... :( But i can play DoomDC cuz i bought that for like 2 bucks at some wholesale store :)

I bought my Quake for PC disc used at a computer show and sale for $3 hehe...

There is a Quake collection with Quake 1,2 and 3 for PC avalible lots of places right now for $29 (less some places) May as well get it... since you'll need Quake2 if DCquake2 becomes a reality. heh

As for Quake3... hate to say it... but...
Quake3 on PS2 is the best version. The characters look a little extra short and squatty but it actually uses a bunch of the features planned for Q3 on pc that werent used. It also has several new game modes :D

Q3 and Unreal on DC both have their pluses... dont think I could decide on a favorite... though I do like Domination mode in Unreal.
My old Sig was broken. Enter the new Sig!

Graphically wise, TheDumbAss, you are right. But how can you go wrong with ONLINE MULTIPLAYER support?. That really is the only plus for the DC version, though. I just wish I had the cd of quake, can't find it (its installed on my pc, though).
