Linux Help with CDI files...

Post by BillBob »

I am having a problem with these dang CDI files... I have compiled cdirip, and have ripped them to ISO bins...

Now from what I understand (which could be wrong) I need to mount these ISO images througha loop back, copy the contents to another directory, and then burn them like normal 'plain file' distributions (ir, 6 sec audio, mkisofs of the dir, dd a ip.bin in it, burn the image.)

Now that would be all fine and dandy, but there are some CDI's, when ripped to ISO I can not mount... isovfy says they are proper ISO images, but a 'isodump -l' shows that there is no real directory structure... Is this something to do with the scrambling?

Any help would be appreciated...

Cheers!

from what i understand (not being experienced with burning DC apps in linux) you burn track 1 as an audio session, and then track 2 as xa1

no need for the ip insert bollox

Thanks, I never tried that... Guess I was trying to much to get them to burn like the plain files (which I have down to a science now!)

Thats what you get for overthinking things...

So why don't people offer 'plain file' distribs on all the emulators? I would think it would be more of a pain to make a cdi/nrg file? Plus then you can't add roms, and have to make a rom disk..
