Are people still playing Phantasy Star Online on the DC? I read that Sega took down servers for a couple more games. Ive been wanting to play Phantasy Star, but I dont know if I should waist my money if no one is playing.

PSO ver. 1 and ver. 2 are the lone remaining Dreamcast games that are still up online. Quake III's online architecture is based off of the pc version so that is still online. 3rd party games (games that are not published by Sega) are said to be online on their own proprietary servers but not up on Sega's servers. I am sure someone will break it down for you; but honestly, just read another thread as this is a very old topic.

since you live in america, DONT get v.2 cos u have to pay monthly for it and its not that much better. if you really want v.2, get a european version. it works fine anywhere in the world and its free to play online.
and yes, thers loads of people on there still (including me)

I disagree, its well worth it, espically for challenge mode. I mean its only 9 bucks for 3 months.since you live in america, DONT get v.2 cos u have to pay monthly for it and its not that much better.
if I imported the EU version i wouldnt have to pay?if you really want v.2, get a european version. it works fine anywhere in the world and its free to play online.

But that's still more than the PAL version - although, this is MUCH harder to find.Nico0020 wrote:I disagree, its well worth it, espically for challenge mode. I mean its only 9 bucks for 3 months.since you live in america, DONT get v.2 cos u have to pay monthly for it and its not that much better.

I don't think so. I'm sure WWP used the old DreamKey ISP and was fixed to it. It always struck me as ironic that the Playstation and GBA had Worm's World Party released, when there was no chance in hell of you having a world party on itNico0020 wrote:i have that but I cant find a server to join, i think its only the PAL version am I right?Worms World Party is still online. I love that game.

Well, as long as it's still online, you just need to connect up your modem and make sure you've registered your ISP's details with your Dreamcast.Nico0020 wrote:well i have the US version, so what do I need to do to get it to work online?I don't think so. well v1 just doesnt have a lot of the BETTER stuff that v2 has. in v1 all you can do is chat in the lobbies, go through the main levels on normal, hard, and vhard, and do some crappy quest. but in v2, there is a really cool battle mode, challenge mode(my personal fav) which is hard but worth it in the end, a new ult mode, more "updated" quests, soccer lobbies, can go to lvl 200 where as v1 can only go to 100, more weapons, androids can use traps in ult mode, and a couple of other little things. But you have to pay a VERY small 3 month fee of 10 bucks. Its well worth it over v1. And yes it is very playable with a 56K modem. 95% of everyone on it uses 56K.Whats the difference detween 1 & 2 ? is it playable at decent speeds with 56k?
