I need help...SOON, PLEASE!!!
Okay, I installed DreamSNES succesfully, got it running, etc....
But it says "Probe for CD-ROM units failed. Only image creation will be available." I even downloaded and installed the "Aspi" thing and got it to "repair" my CD Drive or whatever. So, I have these questions:
1. What does this message mean, and how can I fix it???
2. By image, does it mean ROM images, or just pictures?

I think I'll just use the classical method. Tell me if this is correct:
1. I d/load "DreamSNES 0.9.8 zip archive" and unzip it.
2. I put it all in a folder named "mkisofs".
3. I toss all the roms in there with it.
Oh, and I had a question. If I already have a boot disk, is it absolutely neccesary to use "cdrecord", etc. and make it a bootable CD-R, and follow the instructions on the CD-R Page, or can I just use the above steps to ease the progress?

Yes, if you've burned a boot disc, the rest of your stuff can be burned as standard data.

There are 2 really easy ways to get DreamSNES working.
The first is to just download a pre-made image from DCEmu and burn a seperate ROM disc. The rom disc simply needs a folder called ROMS with your Snes roms in it, and one called "SOUND" with one or more MP3's.
The second is to use Selfboot Inducer from http://www.sbiffy.com and burn roms and emus on one disc. If you use the sbi from Sbiffy, then your ROMS folder is called "Snes", but your MP3's still go in SOUND afaik.

And just for completeness, there is also DSSBS.

What takes a long time to boot up? The DreamSNES emulator? If that's the case, have you created a romlist, or are you just letting the emulator search for files? If you have not created a romlist, DreamSNES will take a whole lot longer to boot up than it does with a romlist.

What specifically are you doing? I mean, step by step. Obviously, something is going wrong with the burn, but it could be a number of things from a burner that won't burn Selfbooting DC stuff properly to an incompatible DC (a few don't work with CD-R, none work with CD-RW without some risky hardware modification) to human errorr somewhere along the line.
