Best Homebrew Game

This forum is for discussion pertaining to homebrew and indie software for the Dreamcast, such as homebrew games, emulators/interpreters, and other homebrew software/applications. Porting requests and developmental ideas are not to be made here; you can make those here. If you need any help burning discs for homebrew software, this is the place to ask as well.

Rocket racer is pretty cool but it needs music and sounds and it would be sweet!

JoeyStyle: Do you mean more recently than two months ago? You know there was a DCBlap update in the end of March/beginning of April, right? If you didn't know that, you do now, and knowing is half the battle!

Cool Herders is a cool game. I forgot which demo it was on, but that's when I first played it. But something happened to the group, so it was never finished, but they released it without the demo.

Cool Herders was initially released on the DC Tonic collection, which was compiled by Cryptic Allusion. At least, I'm pretty sure that's the initial release. It was definitely fun, and I wish they'd been able to finish it. CH had fun music :D

I haven't tried many DC homebrewed games, but of the couple that I tried I liked Warlords the best. If it were 4 human players it would be a good party game.

Don't mention that...

(I Highly doubt there will ever be another release with modified CODE, but I Could finish creating levels from the other 89 .map files i created... And Add The Updated Music Tracks... And The Edited/Changed Art... but..... Its Not the same as If The Coding Was actually finished... I Wish there would be another release... You know who to bug about it...)

Four player Pong And Space invaders combined sort of... You have a base in the corner of the screen and you have to defend it, and if the ball touches the base part of it dissapears...

Code: Select all

Base 1 | | | |Base 2
--------- ---------

     __ __
--------- ---------
Base 3 | |Base 4

Paddles rotate around the base on two sides like the diagram above
I Thought the source was released to warlords tho... or it was offered... heh

Yes, Beerbaron, Warlords rocks! Totaly oldschool. The only thing it's really missing is the faces of the warlords like the original. Great game.
For anyone who doesn't know about the original, check out the info on it at mame.dk http://www.mame.dk/gameinfo/warlords/
I remember seeing the Atari 2600 (VCS / Sear's Telegames) when it was new and thinking "Oh my God! Look how realistic that stick-man looks... and everything is in colour! There's no way we can ever surpass this..."
Man, am I ever getting old!
