if you are running windows xp, the seems to be no way at this time to play games from cd-rom, you have to use CDRwin and make a bin and cue file, copy the bin and cue file to the same folder as the emu,
and go to your start menu and click on run, you will get another window to come up in that window type cmd, if that doesn't work type command.
then command window will pop up a black window, in that window go to the emus folder, eg cd c:\girigiri\

once you type that then type gentoc and the name of your cue file

eg:

gentoc daytona.cue

then it will make a toc file
once thats done close the dos command window and go to your girigiri folder, and open base.ini and you will get something that looks like this

;???{????????t?@?C??
[BASEINFO]
USERDIR=profiles\saturn
AREA=12
DISK1TOC=.\toc.bin
DISK1IMG=.\toc.bin

so change disc1img to the name of ya game

eg:

DISK1TOC=.\toc.bin
DISK1IMG=.\daytona.bin

then click on the big picture and the emu should start
and don't forget to change your area settings
1 Japan
2 Asia NTSC
4 North America
5 Mid + South America NTSC
6 Korea
10 Asia PAL
12 Europe Etc PAL/SECAM
13 Mid + South America PAL

so if you live in say if the game your running is U.S well then you would put 4 as your area settings

eg:

AREA=12

well i hope this helps everyone who has been having problems running the emu.

So it works in older versions of windows like 98? Sounds like it uses ASPI then. Installing ForceASPI might get it to work. I'd try it myself, but I don't own any Saturn games.

ok to get the option screen with texture filtering etc you have to open a hex editer and go to offset B8830 you have to have hex as your view option for the window, or else you may end up going to the wrong string. once you get to offset B8830
you change one of the values from 8E to 8D, its easy to find as its the only one like it on that row, once you do that you save your game and go and run the emulater, then if your in full screen you press ALT&return(aka enter).

then click on menu and select cange device, then you will get lots of options

click on and change the 'Multi sample' mode. The more samples the blurrier the game will be.

but ppl with geforce cards me being one of them have been having problems with this. as it seems to make the whole game go white. but if ya get lucky good for you.

well hope this helps ppl out, if someone can tell me if the is a way i could make a ppf file of this i would up it on my site, so it would save ppl the trouble of having to mess around with hex editers.

also if you press F4 you can get the fps screen to come up and show you how many fps your getting.

For most hex editors, you need to put an "x" before the address.

For some reason Christmas Nights doesn't work, you can set the date, then the screen turns black and nothing happens anymore.

There are 3 main conventions for writing hex numbers and different hex editors use different ones. You either prefix it with a '0x' or a '$' or you postfix it with a 'h'

Thus 7F hex is normally written in one of the following ways:
$7F
0x7F
7Fh

I have never seen a hex editor that just uses 'x', but there are a lot of hex editors I haven't seen so I suppose it's possible.

Nights had the same problem as Christmas Nights for me, though that was b2 maybe it'll work on final, screen goes black & a horible mess of sound comes out before an endless black screen :( .

My copy of NiGHTS just shoves me into the CD Player. Also, I have played around with switching the BIOS. The only BIOS is seems to like is Japanese 1.01 (the one it comes with) and Japanese 1.00.

when it switches to the cd Player it's most likely that you have the wrong countrycode in the base.ini
or are you starting from cd? Because i have the same problem when not starting from an iso.

You got the US BIOS to load up? Damn you! And I am pretty sure its a US CD, so I'm using code 3. I'll try some other codes I guess. And no, I'm not booting from CD.
