bleh i just got over having strep throat a few weeks ago. My lips were cut up and infected and my tounge was swollen, bleeding, cut, and sore (having geographic tounge doesn't help either) plus i was dehydrated. So i know what you're kind of going through.
I didn't eat for a week straight and bleh. When I got hungry enough I started eating ice cream. Had three small spoon fulls a day |= . Just do what I did take pills that knock your ass out and sleep through it all d=

I feel your pain. About a year ago I got this really really nasty throat thing...dunno what it was...but it sucked. My throat was extremely sore, and I constantly felt like I had to cough...only...I couldn't cough. Whatever I had really screwed up my coughing muscles (or whatever the hell you use to cough), so for two weeks my throat was both sore as hell and "tingling"...and there was nothing I could do about it...and cough drops made it worse. The "tingling" feeling kept me awake most of the two weeks, and I actually found myself in tears trying to cough to make the tingling feeling stop. It was horrible. Just give it time. It'll get better.

The worst throat-type thinger was a pharynx infection... basically I couldn't talk for a week or so...
It was terrible... if i sneezed or coughed my entire chest would burn very badly, and a few times I kinda coughed up like... huge amounts of mucus... it was quite miserable.
Took me like 3 weeks to fully get over it... but it really sucks not being able to talk because of infection of the vocal cords...

I had strep waaay back when I was, hmmm, around 11-12 I think..? Anyway my throat hurt so bad I couldn't swallow water. But, I kept drinking it anyway, I also tried to drink sprite, and I lived off of sherbet for a couple of days.. every now and then I would eat something small that was solid, and just go back to bed. I used clorseptic throat spray a lot too. The cherry flavor.. and I mean a lot. If there was every a way to od on that stuff I wouldn't be here right now. I hate to say it jebba but, you're going to have to tough it out and try to eat something, maybe try some jello, I ate that too. The only good thing I can tell you is that if your immune system is strong enough at least you won't catch it again..

Well, i had my tonsils taken out when i was 14 or 15. They knocked me completely out which was good. Ive never had a problem with strep throat though since then. I have had strep once or twice in my life, and yes, it does suck. to anyone who has never had it, but has had there tonsils removed, its a lot like what you feel like when you try to eat right after they take your tonsils out, it hurts like a son-of-a-bitch! Anyway jeeba, i hope you get better cuz, uhh, yaa, we dont you to die

If it came to that you could just ask them to knock you out, then they have to before they do anything it's what I did when I had a lump cut out of my mouth not long ago, gives the docs easier access as well as they can then wedge your mouth open further & longer than if you were concious.Jeeba Jabba wrote:Warm Sprite doesnt hurt so bad...
And a friend of mine, Who used to get this alllll the time, had his tonsils removed.. And never had the problem again.
Only fear I have is I hear they don't knock you out for the surgery :-\
