why won't my Dreamcast play a lot of backups?
Tried to play a few backups that I got at my local bootlegger and they don't work on my system. I brought them back to him and exchanged them but still they didn't work on my Dreamcast, with or without bootdisc. Most of them are selfbootable and my dealer swears that they all work and that it's probably my Dreamcast burning out. Can this be true, were there problems with the Dreamcasts burning out or screwing up in this way? Some games I even find seize up in the middle of play. Is there anything I can do besides throwing it away or selling it? Pls. help!

It never seizes to amaze me why people can pay for a bootleg game that they can (nowadays) get the original for the same price....geez....

I agree with NightHammer. But today I was having trouble booting dcmp3(Don't want to burn to-11, have too many cdr's laying around) and I think this is due to the program... wasn't it coded using wince libs or katana or something? My laser was actually making a really scared noise too so I guess it's time to clean out my dc.
All my homebrew games and emulators worked, but I didn't try any commercial games because I was too burnt.
