I got a question that deals with the linking of files [when one is doing a compilation]. If a compiled library was changed such that the new compiled version is larger, shouldn't the resultant file that will use that library change in size too since it will be linking itself to that library after compiling into object files?
"So I gotta be carefull, can't let tha evil of tha money trap me
so when ya see me #@#$%
ya better holla at me "
If certain source files from that library aren't used, the ELF file size will stay the same. And the object/library files contain a lot of extra information which is only used by the linker, and won't be present in the final program.
