How do I save/load games on NesterDC?

I have the newest version of NesterDC, and I can't find for the life of me, how to save my game, or load it. I am playing final fantasy 1, and I have lost my game 3 times now. Also, my memory card is almost full, but when I go into the DC memory card screen it only says I have 30 blocks used, and that is from other games, it dosen't even show my Nester files, how do I get rid of them?

Here's how you save:

* Press B + R: game menu open
items
- reset
- quick state save (clear when exit game)
- quick state load
- fds set diskside

* Press Y + R: VMU state save menu
items
- VMU state save
- VMU state load
