I BURNED A BUNCH OF GAMES ON CD-R AND THEY WONT BOOT!! haha j/k
but seriously..i opend my dc (for painting purposes) and the flat ribbon cable that connects my laser to the GD-ROM chipboard got cut! stupid weak cable

..anyway i was wondering if anyone had a broken dreamcast laying around and would be willing to sell me that ONE part out of it

I feel for you...

That's the most frequent DC casualty when opening it up. That cable is as tough as a piece of giftwrap. And replacements are really hard to come by. It's even possible to screw it up when replacing it.

I got one. I have a whole laser assembly. The laser board is fried, and the spindle is wobbly. The only thing good is the laser and ribbon. How much do you want to give me for it. I'm asking $20 as of right now. The package will come with the whole laser assembly, but the laser and ribbon are the only thing good on it. Except for the motors, but, whatever. Want it?

if anyone is going to spend $20 a ribbon, you might as well buy another dreamcast, to use as a parts source.

I'd say being the generous person you SHOULD be, you should allow him to send you $5 so you can mail it to him. $20 is extremely expensive
for just a damn ribbon cable.

If he bought the cable retail, it would cost somewhere in the $50 area. And a seller can name any price they want. If it is too high, they just wont get a buyer.
