Final Fantasy I + II Coming To America and EUROPE!!
At last, we're getting a remake in Europe that isn't three or four years too late . April 8th 2003 is the release date for the US, with the European release expected soon after. The reccomended retail price is $30.
For those unaware, Final Fantasy I and II are being repackaged as FF Origins in a totally remade form. Similar to the Wonderswan Color remakes, except on a bigger screen, with added movies, and in English. They look to be better than the previous remakes. And they're on the original PlayStation of course.

I heard they was going to sell them for $20 each and keep them seperate. Id be willing to pay $30 for both though .
There remakeing them to be basically the same quality as a SNES game with cutscenes. You would think if they was going to completely remake them they would have made them 3D with at least FF7 quality. Oh well.

Nah, 3D would ruin the games - they just wouldn't feel anything like their NES counterparts. But then again...

Definately not in their original form - the graphics have been updated to something comparable to a GBA game, with added movies, kickass sound and some extra stuff like extra routes and a new "Easy" mode for players who found the original too hard.kubyx wrote:So they are going to be in their original 2D forms? Nearly exact NES copies right?
Blehhh, there goes the NES value of the game cart right down the tubes!

Final Fantasy Anthology: European Edition contained Final Fantasys IV and V, with VI being released as a standalone game. The American version contained Final Fantasys V and VI. No package has ever contained IV and VI, but those were the only two released in America on the SNES, renamed to FFII and III to save confusion. The Kron wrote:Not on PAL HH, are you thinking of FF anthology? thats 4 + 6.HH wrote:We've had FF1+2 over here for AGES...

hmm I see.-Azathoth- wrote:All you need to remember is that THREE FF games were made for NES, THREE FF games were made for SNES, and then we come upon FF7 for PSX. After that most people can keep track.
(not including wimpy offshoots)
Wimpy offshoots as in Mystic Quest lol. Only good thing about that game was it didn't use random battles.

I actually saw a European release date of mid-March, but I thought it was just outdated facts, seeing as though the US release date is set at a month after that.arcticfeather wrote:CVG said it was being in europe first (in march i think) - i hope this is ture!

O man this is great news. i can't wait, i hope we get it first. i'll have to pick up FF4+5 tomorrow. and then once FF1+2 comes out i'll get that. and then once the remake of 3 comes out i'll get that. but i don't think it will come out for the psx. since it's coming out for the gba. or is it FF1+2 that's coming out for the GBa too?. ok i know FFC is coming out for GBA but what remake is coming out for it FF1+2 or FF3?. anyways anyways once i get them i will have every FF game made. except for FF11. i will have all the original FF games not roms or copies!!. and all the remakes. and no matter what FF11 is i'm still gonna have to get it. (but i don't mind online games) to go with my collection.
