.FIG is Faster then .SMC?

before i rename all my roms to .fig and waste another CD on DreamSnes i want to know if it really helps and if i does, does renaming it help or do i have to do something special besides just renaming SMC to Fig

You have to convert the files to .fig not just rename them, that will do nothing, you have to d/l a app that wil covert them.

Well it says in the other file post that he just renamed them, im pretty sure that will do nothing but I haven't tried that method.

IT WORKS well sorta renaming Super Metriod made it about 3% faster it was noticable but not by much

.fig is a SNES rom image file. others are .smc and .srm

I noticed no speed difference(yes i converted them, not just renamed)
