What makes it so much different then other fighters? The fact you have weapons in your hands? I didn't see anything special about the first one on Dreamcast. Looks like another game where your in a area beating the crap out of the other player. 3D fighters are just too much alike for me. They have very similar moves and your confined to a small area (usually square) that you fight in. You fight a bunch of rounds and see some lame ending about how so and so wins blah blah.pkScary wrote:.....Veggita2099 wrote:Looks like another 3D fighter to me. I might give it a try when its $20.
whaaa????!!!!!
This is definitely the best fighter of the year, and IMHO, the best since SC1
it will own in so many ways....this is not your average fighter.
Sorry if I sound negative. Chances are 7 years ago Id have been excited about this like everyone else.

I might import this to get it 2 months early, then get the American version too
I dunno about you guys, but I've logged over 60 hours in Soul Calibur..and I expect to log more in Soul Calibur 2, mainly because my friends and I are going to play it a lot

The gameplay, graphics, and modes of the Soul series have drawn diehard fighting fans. It sounds like you haven't ever played a great fighter for long at all. I would guess that you haven't mastered any Soul Calibur characters (mine's Kilik).Veggita2099 wrote:What makes it so much different then other fighters? The fact you have weapons in your hands? Soul Calibur is extremely easy to beat in Arcade Mode.
I still can't believe how good it looks on Dreamcast and at 60FPS never a slowdown, not even during lighted effects. I'm playing Soul Calibur right now (my Dreamcast is right next to me... see my "Post your Dreamcast setup" thread in Dreamcast Discussion).
Sophitia is cute.

All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a Thousand Enemies, and when they catch you, they will kill you... but first they must catch you.

Here are some challenges
Challenge #1 -
Put the difficulty on Ultra Hard, play arcade mode, and get all perfects
Another Challenge-
Team Battle mode, 8 people, ultra hard, beat them all with one guy
Yet another-
survival mode: Beat 100!

Most of those 3D fighters are easy to beat unless you change the settings to hard. I have Soul Caliber and DOA2 on DC and didn't care for either. No I didn't master any charactor cause I dont' care for either of the games. I will say Soul Caliver and DOA2 is better then any of those Virtua Fighter games though.
Im just not a fighter fan. After about Mortal Kombat 2 I got sick of them. I do love Mortal Kombat 2 on 32X though.

Yeah, it is pretty weird, but I don't really mind, as long as there is just one without a weapon.sixteen-bit wrote:I'm sure someone has mentioned this before, but why was that old man, err I mean Heihachi included in a game that is all about weapon combat? :/
Doesn't matter anyway, because I'll be getting the Xbox version. It has the best graphics quality and it has Spawn. No-brainer.
