ill remove it if its offencive and all other works of mine if thats the problem only done for me and i did not know its had all this bull SH>IT in it i donwload the source off a non english site some one had changes the lic parts it seems

i cant be botherd with any of it if it's like this really looks like ill be enjoying the games only

the source is there make a request is how i was going to do it dont even think thats right snes9x parts of it are zsnes and are gpl as well so go figger

the cpu core the render etc lots of parts were include from gpl source there wierd freeware lic is total crap

This means that adding a mention in your docs that the sourcecode is available on request is enough to satisfy GPL.

So for any program based on GPL sourcecode, that will suffice.

MAME sources do not show that option, so for those you may have to actually put up the sourcecode if you want to comply with the license.

You're taking this completely the wrong way. I'm not asking for sourcecode. I'm just informing you of the license restrictions. If you follow my suggestions or not, I don't care. It was just a friendly suggestion, but you don't appear to see that.

OK then jsut as soon as the games out you on to it and have not even tested it and the whole topic is nothing to do with playing the game or if any one likes it just one big gpl nitemare

i should not release any think as i do things fast and dont comment code at all bad habbit but it makes workignfast for me

in future any games that i port with gpl lic will only be for me and my freinds in real life as i dont have to put up with this type of stuff

i siad first up you want it make a request ill send it and you and toast men then are picking apart every think i do asking from every bit of source code that i have


MAME told me no worrys they dont care its for the DC so go ask them

I do apoligize for having the GPL discussion in this thread, it should have taken place elsewhere. Anyway, read back the first few posts in this thead. I was just giving some friendly advice to a fellow dc developer. Turning this into a big discussion was not my intention.

They said it's no problem that it's on the DC. The license still requires you to give out the source. Like I said, I'm making an official request for the source to the MAME ports.

And you have to make your extra libs under a compatible license and give out the source to them as well since that is what the GPL requires (you could release it under a BSD-style license, where your libs wouldn't taint your other projects with the GPL)

SNES9x and Doom are not under the GPL. The source is freely available, but not GPL'ed. There is a difference.

Stop being a crybaby.
At least Atani was a man about it and released the source to DCGen.
If none of these people went GPL or similar license then chances are you wouldn't have their source to begin with to work on. You owe these people your eternal gratitude for all the praise you've recieved here because without them you wouldn't have one single release.
Just honor their wishes and intentions and do as the ask in their licenses and stop being such a baby about it.
