question about dc proxy server

if i set my home cpu as the server and connect my dc to it using the modem how fast would it go, my cpu has cable and is this possible

Connecting the DC modem to a PC modem and proxying the PCs connection will give you a maximum connection speed of 33.6kbits. The modems connecting the machines are only capable of sending data to each other that "fast".

Why? Most online games work perfectly on those speeds. I never experienced any lag in games when using the normal modem.

You *might* get a slight improvement if your proxy does caching of web pages but it is hardly going to change your world. ;)
