I#ve tried burning the plain files with my roms (all as instructed).. I changed the blank.png to b.png and I can''t get it to run!!

I use the utopia 1.1 boot disc, and it gets to 98% and locks... and that's it..

I also downloaded the newer version of the sys 16 emu (with the renaming already done) and I still get the same results!

Aaarrrrghhh.. must.. play.. shinobi.... :P

Please help!
I think you need a different IP.bin if you want to use it with Utopia (why do you need this to boot the disc though?)

Download selfboot and use that to build a Nero or DiscJuggler image. Then you dont need Utopia, although the downside is you'll have to re-burn it each time.

Here's what i did:

1) Downloaded the System16 emu and unzip to c:\system16
2) Put the IP.bin from anything (i used the one from nester) in the same directory as the 1ST_READ.bin file.
3) Put your roms in the System16\Games directory.
4) Run Selfboot and select c:\system16 (or wherever you put it) as the directory to build an image from.
5) Then just click either create Nero or Discjuggler image DAO/TAO image.
6) Burn yourimage.nrg

Thats's it.

Shinobi actually runs pretty well, i was just playing it :D

cheers dude, I got the emu working!!

As a side note to Reaper.. I've noticed that some of the rom sets work better than others.. I've got Shinobi Bootleg and Shinobi set 1. Set 1 runs a lot faster, is smoother and has less distortion on the audio.

Maybe you should get the group to run tests on their rom sets and see which ones run the best?? I've got a few that I'll test out, maybe they'll all have different results?

Have you found anything similar?

Well.. keep up the good work dude...

Yeah, i have yet to try it, but from what i am hearing its pretty damn good.

Pretty impresive i'd say, first release and 90% and above speed, and SOUND, sound on the first release, amazing.

Reaper, i think you should work on a genesis emu!

What a waste of time crt0 is already making a genesis emu that will be 100% perfect. He should work on PC engine, fix dnrs last oswan release, and probably move onto CPS1 emulation.

Tried it earlier, finished off Golden axe & Altered Beast, both ran great with 2 players. Also tried Shinobi again great speed, Dynamite Dux had a slight problem with the ducks heads graphics being messed up, not really important though. Wrestlewar ran but the screen was at a 90 degree angle (maybe a dipswitch setting thing), Bodyslam displayed game over as a match started (again not sure what that one is). Couldn't get Fantasy Zone or Flashing Point going, when selected nothing happened, maybe bad roms. Tetris as mentioned by Reaper elsewhere in here ran great with no sound issues, although having said that whilst playing the games you cant really notice the clicking anyway, certainly didn't in Altered Beast though some death groans in Golden Axe were a bit messed up, still for a first release it's fantastic. Overall a great emu which has left me eagerly awaiting the next installment.

Reaper, do you have a ClrMamePro dat for mame v36? Listinfo wasn't available in this version, so I can't make my own out the exe. Any help would be appreciated.
