The Best SNES Fighter

Post by Lone Wolf »

What is the ultimate SNES fighting game?

For me, it boils down to two different games: Fatal Fury Special and Super Street Fighter 2.

Fatal Fury Special wins IMO. Ryo Sakazaki as a hidden character (though damn near impossible to get to), cooler characters, and just plain more fun to play with the DMs and different pre/post- match quotes.

I didnt' like fatal fury special. I preferred the genesis 6 button controller layout as opposed to the snes layout.

Only 3 good Dragon Ball Z fighting games, in my opinion.
Super Butoden 2
Hyper Dimension ( I own the actuall cartridge )
Legends (PSX/Saturn)

The best SNES fighting game is TMNT Tournament Fighters, IMHO.
The controls were smoother, i.e. it was easier to do a 'dragon punch' move than in Street Fighter. And there's easier to do a super move, not like Fatal Fury Special. When I'm in a fight, I want my moves fast and easy to be done. I hate those Fatal Fury commands, even Art of Fighting was better in this aspect.
The second would be Street Fighter 2 Turbo, even without Cammy and the others, it has the best balance between the fighters.

has no one ever tried Gundam Wing: Endless Duel?
I am certainly ashamed!
but besides that, i'd say that killer instinct rules it, then DBZ: HD, then street fighter II

Street Fighter or DBZ

Post by JoeMamaBeach »

The best fighting game for me for the snes is Street Fighter Alpha 2. Following after that, is Dragonball Z Hyper Dimension.
