codes and cheats are for pussiesLOL Speeddemon, I'm not interested in Dead Or Alive Porn. When I own a game I want to know ALL possible codes which are available, no matter how bizarre.

There is nothing wrong with useing codes, cheats, or even a Gameshark. IT does ruin a game if you cheat on it BEFORE you beat it, or you just cheat all the way through it. I have this one friend who won't even play a FPS game unless he has all the cheats. To him its great, but I wouldn't bother playing if I had to use cheats to get through it.
I like to use a gameshark on a game AFTER I beat it just to see what its like to have insane amounts of power. I did this with Final Fantasy's 8, 9, and 10.
And not all people are hardcore, and that hardly makes them pussies. Some people need the help of a code or cheat to get past certain parts of a game. Isn't it better if a person cheats past 1 part of a game instead of just getting pissed and not playing it anymore?

In that case, I have no problem with them. Nor do I have a problem with them after beating a game. But if you use them to help you beat a game or unlock something, thats when you are a pussy because you suck.Codes enhance a game for further enjoyment, like unlocking secret characters or new weapons which cannot be accessed in any other way. You saying that's for "pussies" ?

I guess I am a pussy. There was 1 game I used a Game Enhancer to help on, and it was Final Fantasy 8. I rushed through the game and while in the lunitix pandora I for the life of me couldn't defeat Adel. I couldn't just run circles to level up either as enemies in that whole area only gave 1 experience point (and it was like 50000 to level up).liltimmyw wrote:In that case, I have no problem with them. I also used the game genie to Beat BattleToads on NES. Id like to watch somebody beat that damn game without a game genie. Thats the only 2 games I can think of that I absolutely had to cheat on to beat.

It does sicken me when I watch people get a game and immediately put cheat codes in. My friend cheated the entire way through games like Warcraft 2, Warcraft 3, Duke3D, Doom, Redneck Rampage, etc. He thinks it makes the game cool. Then he talks shit about how he beat the game...stupid huh? I don't like to cheat unless I have beaten the game, but I beleive I have said that several times. I didn't mind useing codes to skip levels or give infinite lives on old SNES or NES games (after all those games didn't use save states like modern games do). Those type of codes didn't really make the game easier, just more convenient to play.
Now pretty much if I can't beat a game I just ditch it on E-bay and dont' fool with it. I forsee Twisted Metal Black going to E-bay soon.

Yeah, I hear ya. I specially hate those cheat-happy kids who finish a game with a code and then say: "There's no challenge, I beat it in 4 hours"... well there was a challenge... until you used the cheat codes.
Cheats are popular with the warez crowd. Since they got the game without paying for it, they can't appreciate the game's challenge. They just want to complete it.
But there are legitimate uses for cheats. Handicapped people for example, or small children who want to play a difficult game. Or when the game is just too damn hard.
