Hmmm...
I'd have said the following:
Mario 3 (yes already named I see)
Salamander (was it Light Force or Life Force in front of it?) - Either way was a classic side-scrolling shooter... see also: Gradius I -> III
Probotector (Aka Contra as already named)
Metroid (Still amazing to this day)
Mike Tyson's Punch Out (I still love this as well )
Gauntlet (Quite fun in single player but was awesome in 4-player mode... think it was 4 player on the NES with the 4 Score - either that or the sequel, Gauntlet II - absolutely shiteloads of hours of play time here)
Snake, Rattle & Roll (Rare do it again, I thought this game was great - however I didn't think much to the MegaDrive/Genesis version).
Rygar (Absolutely amazing side-scolling platformer - does NOT work on NesterDC 7.x - however the arcade version works on Reaper2k2's single-game MAME of Rygar )
Castlevania I -> III (Need I say more???)
Megaman/Rockman I -> VI (Was there 6 or seven megaman's on the NES? Either way check any of them out, I preferred the 4th one the best though...)
Zelda & Zelda II (Can't remember their full names, I know one of 'em is "The Adventures Of Link" - I think! Were both cracking NES games)
I'll edit as I think of more... here's some suggestions to keep you going tho

There was 6 megamans on the NES. Mega Man 7 was put on the SNES and Mega Man 8 was on the Playstation 1 and Saturn (Saturn version being best).
There is this adventure game called Faxanudu (not sure of spelling). It was pretty fun for its time, although last time I played it I found it to be pretty difficult.

Apologies -Azathoth- I understand (as I'm sure many people do), that romz are considered warez. However, if the person who created this topic re-worded it to make it the NES games discussion (such as - "What are peoples favourite classic NES games?") rather than "What ROMs should I put in Nester" would it not pertain to classic game discussion?-Azathoth- wrote:Uh, romz are still considered warez, even though they are considered ancient by todays video game standards.....just remember that guys.
