Your pick for 2002 Game of the Year

I have came to a conclusion. My pick for 2002 game of the year is Kingdom Hearts. Since late Tuesday night, I have put 15 hours into it. My runner up is Animal Crossing.

i would say socom but its very weak offline mode doesent cut it. so i pick animal crossing.

Gamecube: Metroid prime 8.5
GBA: metroid fusion 9.0
PS2: Kingdom hearts 8.5
Dreamcast title of the year : nhl 2k2 (last game too) 8.0
xbox : i guess would be JSF only game that inrests me on system currently 8.0

halo is way overrated its not the greatest game out there. timesplitters 2 is definitley better

Halo is good but splinter cell owns it this year. I wonder whats going to be better though, Halo 2 or Doom 3? (|<

no, GTA3 was amazing when it came out last year. no one had ever seen a 3d game with such freedom and originality then. Vice City is good, but not game of the year worthy.

I find Timesplitters 2 's gameplay ... Pretty meh. Nothing out of the ordinary to me..

And I think Doom 3 will be better on the computer, while Halo 2 is better on the box ...

I'm with Jeeba as well, though I've never played or even seen Halo. But I must because I haven't done anything stalker-ish to Jeeba lately and I don't want you people to think I'm slacking.

Mafia for PC. One of the best games I've ever played. If you haven't played it I highly reccomend buying it.

I am half tempted to say Ikaruga. Why? Because I just flat out do not like shooters, and the only shooter I've ever remotely like was Lifeforce for NES. Yet, for some unexplainable reason, I cannot put this game down. It is way too addictive for my own good.

I am also half tempted to say Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island. It is as good now as it was back in the day and still stands as one of my all time favorite SNES games. However, since it is a mere port from the SNES game, I don't feel it's right to put it down as a game of 2002 since it was technically released a long time ago.

In the end, though, I'm going to have to pick Kingdom Hearts. I've enjoyed this game so much, and am already working on my third time through the game. It's just a masterpiece in so many ways. I still can't believe Squaresoft did such a flawless job of combining characters and putting them together in such an interesting way. This was no small feat, and for them to pull it off so well deserves my vote for game of 2002.

BTW, I noticed people voting for Halo, yet didn't it come out in 2001?

I would have to say Animal Crossing, because the game stands in a league of its own. The game was brilliantly developed by Nintendo.
