Historically, the Jewish "people" are descended from the Hebrews, so say you born "Jewish", and you are adopted into a Christian family, you could have one possible scenario.

I dont care who tries to say different. Jewish people DO maintain their own "people". The Sephardic and Ashkenazi people who make up the Jews are an excellent example.

Well I guess if your jewish you could go to a christian church. However if your Jewish you would have to go with #2 since the Jewish people don't celebrate Christmas.

I know a couple of African Christians and I am sure you could be African and Jewish, so I don't understand the question

Well, Christianity was born out of Judaism, so if you're Christian, pretty much half or your religious text is the Jewish religious text. So, looking at it that way, you could pretty much be Christian and Jewish at the same time, even if you're not of Hebrew descent if you believe in the whole Bible. Therefore, if you also are of African descent, you could be all three simultaneously and celebrate all 3 holidays mentioned above. Not that it really makes a bit of difference what you are as long as you are happy.

I personally would celebrate Christmas only, however. Why? It's one day. Sure, I'll only get one gift from whoever decides to buy me a gift, but I in turn would only be expected to purchase one gift for each of those on my list. So, there's less of an investment to make and I can make sure I get people the one gift that they will enjoy instead of 8 cheap gifts that will break by New Year's due to my limited budget.

relgions are for almost any one who wants to be part of it....

any way i haven't met any african americans that celebrate kawnza, only chirstmas... i live pretty close to detriot too any one know anyone who does?

yup. 10 years ago my friends dad was from africa and he celebrated it
