burning dreamsnes

Anything DreamSNES-related can be asked in this forum, such as general questions about the emulator, how to burn it, etc.

Hmm, I also read somewhere that you should burn the emulator and roms on separate cds, but that doesn't always work. I'm going to tell you of a way in which you can successfully burn a bootable Dreamsnes with roms on the same cd:

1) on http://www.dcemulation.org/dcemu-dreamsnes.htm, download the PLAIN FILES WHICH DO NOT SELF-BOOT (for some reason the links are mixed up, click on the "Disc Juggler format" link to download the plain files)

2) Download http://www.dcemulation.org/dl/dl.php3?u ... NES-DJ.zip (this is the UBERBOOT program for Discjuggler which makes the DREAMSNES self-bootable, if you don't have Discjuggler download the demo)

3) Unzip both the Dreamsnes files and Uberboot files from their zips. Double click Uberboot.bat and follow the screen instructions. It will tell you where to put the rom and emulator files so as to prepare it for burning. You do not need romlist, for this is already in Uberboot. After follwing the instructions in Uberboot.bat press a key to continue and it'll scan the roms and the necessary files to create a .cdi file, which you then take into Discjuggler to burn on a cd.

4) Load it into the Dreamcast, and enjoy, it will work

I used DC Factory and it worked perfectly. I did not even need to read a faq for it. You should try it. It is in the needed tools page http://www.dcemulation.com/neededtools.htm

the easiest way to do it i think is with selfboot inducer, you can put the roms and emulator on the same disk without having to do romlist stuff or whatever, and can put more then one emulator/dc homebrew prog/game on one cd.

All the self booting tools I've tried work and work very well (only one disliked me but I think that's because it tried burning the CD as well instead of just creating a cdi/nrg file)

Speaking of selfboot... anyone know why the romlist program refuses to recognize my roms? (all are unzipped in 1 directory... whenever I run it, it says it found 0 roms)
