well the average dever actually does want to help out the users of their product, they also appreciate feedback and the like... the problem is that "lamers" (anyone even vaguely like you) will flood their email and forums with posts of known bugs, requests for impossible features, demands that the team work on something they already are working (i remember seeing someone post something like "why dont you guys just make dreamsnes full speed"... um i think they would have thought of that at some point), and it just gets frustrating to the dever. instead of releasing betas every few months, the dsnes team has decided to wait until they are pretty much done to make another release, and i think its a great idea, i mean those who actually can appreciate the product can already look at the available version to know that these people are quite talented and will have a superb product to release when its done, and will be worth waiting for, and those who cant see the quality, well, as the saying goes, they can kiss the teams ass

Taken from the DreamSNES FAQ Page:
We did originally intend to do more before-1.0-releases, but we caught so much flak for the 0.9.4 release - despite the fact that it was only intended to test new save code - that we decided against any more such releases. It's more work that it's worth. There will be no releases before we are happy with the complete package.
That answers your question. Damn Lamers..... Also..
For some reason the forums hosted by easynews was closed down. I'm sure they had their reasons, but they haven't mailed me to tell me what they where. dcemulation.org has gratiously offered to run a forum for us for now.
I think they are watching us......SO DONT COMPLAIN ABOUT DREAMSNES!

Pretty much, the current version of DreamSNES is really good, most games run on it, but you have to turn fullscreen off, and turn off the sound, and its not half bad, most games are playable when you have those two features turned off.discostu55555 wrote: i mean those who actually can appreciate the product can already look at the available version to know that these people are quite talented and will have a superb product to release when its done, and will be worth waiting for, and those who cant see the quality, well, as the saying goes, they can kiss the teams ass

MM..
I wouldnt place all the blame on the lamers. Granted, they are the ones who caused the dreamsnes team to take the actions which they did, but the dreamsnes team took the easy way out. By taking the easy way out, I think the team in a way abandoned the true fans of the community they started, and have lost some respect. Im not putting their coding/work ability into question, Im just saying that we at the user end are only humans, and even the most die-hard of Dreamsnes supporters wont last forever.

MM..
Thats BS. I wont sell my DC till i get a fullspeed DreamSNES even if it takes till next year. They didnt take the easy way out, they were tired of people complaining about the speed and why the sound makes it go slow.Roam wrote: I wouldnt place all the blame on the lamers.
