if you burn any think for the old model psx 1001 bios
nothing over 2x will work the laser can not read any think burned higher
old worn out crap is the same like my dreamcast
i got no idea why you want to burn that fast im not that busy
ill wait and have perfect sound and qualty every time at 4x or 2x

dude cant you use nero and change your speed
there must be some software that could force it to 1 speed
what about the demo of disk juggler it only burns at 1 x

ps: this drive is a good choice to the ones that want write at higher speed with DJ demo...
nero can?t change too...it?s the drive spec... i don?t known about any software that force or emulate 2x or 4x recording...i think nobody wants write a cd in lower speeds

Honestly, don't bother with slow speeds unless your computer is absolute shit and your burner is even worse.
I constantly burn at 16x on a 233MHz PII without any problems. I use that machine as a burn farm all the time.
Burn speed doesn't really effect anything anymore. Hardware error correction will compensate for any discrepencies in the burn most of the time.

high speed does effect audio sound burn slower no need for any error fixing and it work on any think
why cant people wait 28 mins if you not selling warez you dont need super fast burner what for mine is old sure and only burns 4x at the fastest

I burn at 8x on my Pentium 200Mhz with 64MB of ram, and have never had a coaster that was the drive's fault (bad images and HD failure have been the only reasons). I've burned using Nero and Self-Boot Buddy.
Of course, my burner (8x8x24x Yamaha) has a huge amount of cache (8MB), and burn-proof that helps a lot.
