a new vmu emulator :
DreamVMU 0.1 released
I finally took some time to release DreamVMU. You may wonder: What is DreamVMU ?? Well, DreamVMU is an DreamCast Virtual Memory Unit emulator. It does NOT emulate the Sega DreamCast !!

DreamVMU doens't emulate the full VMU hardware, and it is very buggy. However this was just a fun project for me to do, and I will not do any more development on it. But the source is available on request, so if there any developers out there who might be interested to continue the project, mail me at: xega_emu@yahoo.com to get the source code.
You can freely use the code, as long as you credit me as the original author.

DreamVMU uses DirectX 8.0 or higher. There is no documentation available, but the GUI should be very easy to use (well, I think)

Enjoy :)

Do you reckon you could mention my site on the main page? It's got a lot of useful DC self-boot information on it, and some great tutorials for ripping DVDs and turning them into DivXs or MPEGs for GypPlay.

request filled

Post by reaper2k2 »

By request from TheGatesofBill, I have sucessfully compiled "ZeroWing" M.A.M.E. In the game, menu screens are slow. In-game is ok, though only about 50% speed, sometimes faster. it is playable. I remind everyone that this is only the first beta and it is slow, but sound works, and frameskip can be used. Optimal speed setting for me was- Frameskip 1, no sound. The rom has to go in the ROM directory.

at my dev site is the download for now

this was a request as well Rygar mame

Post by reaper2k2 »

ok its out now http://dcdevr2k2.topcities.com/

Rygar mame

the readme has the info and such of course when it shows the type ok screen you press left and right on the controler to get by that screen is not displaying right but will not effect the game .... you must select frame skip (1) sound yes when you first play it or theres a grafix problem , if you dont use this setting . Press (a) and start together to go back to the config screen eg quits the game then you can select no frame skip or up to 6 frameskip .... it does not need it but its there. all in game menus can be used with a press of the left trigger brings up normal mame options they all work with out a keyboard .....

thats about it and it says by request from farrell2k in the rom selection screen so its a dcemulation collectable ... or i think so hee

of course you can make a sbi of it with other mame releases etc and make a theme to make it look nice . some idea's

the rom set is US (set1) only make sure you use that version

it's in the topic nester7.1 Rygar nolonger works for it

Post by reaper2k2 »

Solomon Key beta2 OUT now

major changes fix's

-screen fixed no longer missing the bottom
-speed ups due to change in driver and joystick code
-sound is faster and is matching the speed of the game
-nicer clean menu before the main rom selection
-runs just like it does on my pc
-sound is better but not 100% correct
-IT is in a single zip file for the people that dont like rar

You will notice the speed up in this version so use this not beta1
http://r2k2gate.topcities.com *dev site and my releases* get it here

please change the news so only this version is show this is so much better then the last and now has all the changes ive been working on and they worked! its 100% just like the pc version of mame now only the sound is tiny bit off and im working on that if you download the first version you want this it kicks its you know what in every way !
