no shoulder buttons mapping on tekken 3?!

Post by ScruffysApricots »

i cant believe theyve implemented forced button mapping on TK3!
its now impossible to use shoulder buttons as LP+RP or LP+RK so you can use king or nina effectively! BOTH are mapped as SELECT for gods sake...

there's also some tekken 3 codes not possible while running on bleemcast because of the button mapping being

'Alternate costumes
Select arcade mode, highlight a fighter on the character selection screen, and hold R1 + R2 + L1 + L2 until the timer reaches zero. Then, release the buttons when both fighters are displayed.' is not possible in bleem tekken 3

well the arcade didnt have those extra buttons, so i see no problem with it... i mean how hard is it to just press the buttons at the same time the way the game was origionally designed to be played?

actually i bought a ps pad adapter specifcally so i could play it properly
if any of you are actually proper tk3 players youll know that with an arcade stick its easy to get stuff like rp+lk out but with any sort of pad its NOT.
hence namcos thoughtful button mapping option. all im saying is that bleem! should simply be a booter and NOT interfere with the actual game in any way, which, by forced buttons mapping is very much interfering..theres just no need.

Okay, I'm not a proper TK3 person and I've only played the game a little bit but you're saying TK3 doesn't have any button mapping portion? If that's true then Bleem really is just a booter - to have button mapping in Bleem would be interference. And what are you saying, the buttons should just be mapped out into space?

no, what im saying is that theyve chosen a mapping scheme that is non-changeable...its a scheme that doesnt accurately represent the actual button mapping allowable by the game itself and restricts gameplay

Well it's not like they are gonna change it anymore :p

Anyways, it's just something to get used to, I did and it's fun! :) It doesn't restrict gameplay at all as all moves are still accsessinble, just use your thumb over two buttons at a time, its REALLY easy :)

I can understand your dissatisfaction ScruffyApricots. I love thunderclapping peoples heads with panda with the r2 or 21 button, whichever one it was. I think they had an option to change buttons in bleem! gt2, but I think you could change them in the game anyway. Oh well I guess Tekken 3 will be a little more challenging this time around, it's a pretty easy game. The only hard part is the endurance <-(?) mode where you play a linear game against a series of goons. I ordered bleem! Tekken 3 anyway despite the lack of tapper button combos. Funny, whenever I played Soul Calibur a while back I allways said to myself "I bet Tekken 3 would look just about this good if it was made for DC." My wish came true. :p

nope, just in the game...the buttons were gard mapped in gt2 also... its just that in TK3 they are mapped so l/r=select rather than l/r=l1/r1 like in gt2 or mgs...

Did it work with the PSX-pad using a (PSX-to-DC)converter?
If so, there is no problem!

Please tell me, so I know if I should order a PSX-to-DC converter along with the Bleemcast 4 Tekken3 pak...
