Thats because there is a difference with the newer versions of VCD players, and the way the movie is coded. Older VCD players, like mine have no problem with reading standard encoded vcd's, but new players wont read it. There is a tool called "ULEAD DVD Workshop" that will encode VCD's for compatibility with newer players.....

My karaoke-superstar wannabe gf bought a 3 disk changer vcd/karaoke player before I got around to trying any of the dreamcast vcd players......lucky me...Code-Red wrote:Now, would those VCDplayers be better then DreamVCD, cause that was horrid, it was more like a slideshow then a movie player.....plus the audio tracks would constantly go off.
roughly 50+ minutes X 3 of near-dvd quality vcd movie with my machine.

Ah ok, whew! Yah it's DreamMovie I got from Lik-Sang!NeonGenesis wrote:I believe DreamVCD is a homebrew one or something. You got DreamMovie off of Lik Sang, and yes, it plays VCDs amazingly well, almost up to XVCD standards.
Time to bid on Star Wars trilogy (VCD) from eBay!
