Dreamcast and Majesco?

Post by bkarsh »

Have you folks ever heard of Majesco Inc? They're a company that has resurrected both the Sega Genesis and Sega Game Gear consoles for sale -- and these are new machines. I am wondering -- why don't they reproduce the sega dreamcast?

I really don't think that they will do it. Majesco has had the chance to do the same for the Saturn, but you don't see any rereleases of any of the classics. Considering that the Dreamcast was met with the same fate as the Saturn (poor sales figures although some great titles), your best bet will be to buy anything that you're considering now because you'll be paying more for it used in the future.

Majestico, from wehat i hear, did ressurect the saturn though that is just a rumor and as for the DC, if they cost $209 USD to make then no, unless they can do it for like $160 less, dont expect a majestico relese...

I was really disappointed with the remade Game Gear, I was hoping for a redo like the Gameboy pocket did for the original Gameboy. Oh well, and why would you need someone to remake the Saturn, you can get them new for $30 at Buy Rite.

the supposed rerelease of the game gear is funny they are not new systems they are old systems that sega sold to then they boxed and released them with games my local ames has what must be every single gamegear game now for 9.99 and the systems for 29.96 its really to bad that sega never thought to remove the back lite screen the system would have had a chance then

I don't think they're simply repackaged GGs because the new ones are incompatible with things like the tv tunner. Also I have to disagree about the back Lit feature, what they should have done is remade it with a built in battery of somekind...Man I loved my game gear...

Also even if someone remakes the DC it's unlikely anyone is going to make new games for it...What I've suggested is convincing companies to make Mil-CD (like bleem) versions of their bargin bin games like hexxen, and Quake II...
