pso question

my dc is used and i am pretty sure the person who had it before played pso on it and registered some serial. I heard that goes in the dc memory and that i would need to reset the memory or some crap (im really not sure) and i would like to know if the serial is needed to play offline cause i dont feel like flashing my dc to play one stupid innocent game of pso offline. and since there are plenty of hackers, and barely anyone online i dont need to play online.

I don't know about the memory being flashed, but I think you need the serial for v.2 offline, but you don't need it for v.1

There's nothing saved in the dreamcast's memory but your dc's serial number.If my PSO CD broke, then a puppy chewed up the label with the cd key, I could get a new PSO and play on or offline as long as the PSO is new.If the CD key was used, I could only play offline....PSOV2, I don't know about.

You can play v1 off-line without the serial also

i had to enter a serial to play offline and as far as i know its v.1.0
