Take everything out of your Dreamcast until you get to the motherboard.
Now underneath the Motherboard near the TV Out Connector, There will be a bridge (R422), Solder this bridge together to force the DC to run at 60hz PAL.
If for any reason you need NTSC then you can just solder a switch here
I don't wanna be a bitch or so but the mod doesn't work woth my dc.
I have a first model PAL dc. I have it chipped with a 5-wire mod-chip. Problem was that a lot of imports would boot at 50Hz instead of 60Hz so I tried the mod described here. Are there any other things I can try?
az_bont, are you referring to PAL DC's or all of them? cuz my NTSC DC has always worked fine with my tv, unfortunately, the only game i have that allows me to switch refresh rates is MSR. and 50hz doesnt work. only 60hz. if that is the case, wtf?
That hack actually only works on NTSC machines. It doesnt make it run in 60HZ, but it gives it a PAL signal. I did this on one of my chipped NTSC DC's (It means it will run Res Evil CV pal properly.

sorry, just a bit confused by your post az_bont.
On an NTSC console, PAL games apparently skip the refresh rate setting screen and default to 60Hz, which would be outputted as an NTSC signal.

I tried this on my US DC a while back and, yes, it increased the resolution and changed the color to black and white, causing me to believe that it does work to turn a NTSC signal into PAL.
This is a Pal fix mod for NTSC machines that have graphical problems with some PAL games with the Older Version of the 4 Wire mod chip, Or a boot disc.
