Is adding support for StarOcean Important?

StarOcean - Suport

Post by clessoulis »

I dont know if you all have time to add support for the graphic packs for StarOcean or not but I already know how you could do it.
Just simply make it search for the graphic packs in a folder called "Socnsdd1" just like zsnes and snes9x.

Just was wondering if you could add it.

The Sdd1gfx.dat and the sdd1gfx.idx are 5.47 MB total.

quite obvious...Most people here tell you that it would need that folder in the rom folder if they added the support. If they did add it it would probably be an option to add yourself the 5Mb folder. Not everybody wants to download the extra junk to play star ocean or any other of the compressed graphics pack games. i personally would like to play star ocean on dsnes. the games graphics are way ahead of the system.

Personally I would just make a dsnes for Star Ocean Possibly self bootable, if I could figure that out....why not, it's just a single cd...

I could use Star Ocean...

SO1 is one of my favourite RPGs. Too lazy to try it on ZSnes, it might be worth it for DSnes.

Been playing it for a while on Zsnes now (Dejaps beta patch), and the game is great!
I'd really like to play it on DreamSNES, but I dont think it'd get full speed easily though...

Well yeah but then that would mean putting out xor'ed graphics packs (If the dsnes felt the need too) . Dejap just got too tired of ppl asking how to use dexor they just gave us the already dexored packs saying they would rather risk a possible lawsuit from Nintendo (lol) . Even if they did get SDD1 emulation support it would still be pretty slow. Just play it on znses, its the best that it is going to get.

I rather play it on TV with lag. Hell if it runs playble on a old p1 120(or something like that) then i sure as hell can play it on Dsnes.

I've seen screen shots for this game, and all I can say is, amazing. I thought it was a playstation title. I've downloaded this, but it doens't work on DCSNES. I feel that support for this game would be strongly appreciated

Hey, keep wishing.. but I think it is more important to get mainstream SNES emulation working better before the start with SDD-1.

The main stream emulation does seem to work. Now they pretty much gonna have to go get code for all the special chips game off zsnes code and being the slow process of turning them into SH4 assembly.
