Into the business end of the year yet again...what's everybody getting? Here's a handy guide with European release dates on it:
I'm down for:
FORZA HORIZON 2
SUPER SMASH BROS 3DS
COD: ADVANCED WARFARE
ULTIMATE NES REMIX
ASSASSIN'S CREED ROGUE
FARCRY 4
LITTLE BIG PLANET 3
PERSONA Q
POKEMON OMEGA RUBY
Which isn't bad considering I own none of the next-gen consoles. That said, I'm really disappointed with 3DS this year. It had a fantastic 2013 and I was hoping for more of the same. Instead it's been really slim-pickings. I'm still going to get Smash Bros even though the controls feel somewhat unresponsive in the demo, and I'm always up for Pokemon but it is just a remake. Very happy to see my 360/PS3 have so much mileage left in them though.
All I have preordered is Hyrule Warriors. I definitely plan to pick up PS4 GTAV, and I may pick up Wii U Smash Bros, but other than that I have no plans to pick up any new games. I play so much retro stuff nowadays that I just can't justify buying any new games.
This week sometime (whenever it comes in the mail), I'll be getting Ar nosurge: Ode to an Unborn Star. Other than that, I'll probably pick up the 3DS version of the new Smash Bros game. Beyond those two, I don't have anything that I know I'll be getting.
Games I'll be later this year for sure are SSB4 for 3DS & Wii-U, DriveClub, Sonic Boom. There's many that I'll buy later in 2015 though. I've just got too large of a backlog.
I've pretty much played everything out that I'm interested in on the Wii-U and the PS4 right now, there's a few things I'm vaguely interested in on the 3DS that I haven't played but nothing I'd pay full price for. The PS4 is the only console I'm really giving any time to lately, the Wii-U and 3DS have become expensive dust collectors.
3DS:
Still waiting for Shovel Knight to get a European release.
Is Kero Blaster getting a 3DS release?
The homebrew loader on the way.
Don't think there's anything else announced I'm excited about right now, Majora's Mask remake would be nice.
PS4:
I gave Minecraft a quick play a few years ago and decided it wasn't for me, but with nothing much else coming really soon I've pre-ordered the retail edition of the PS4 version.
I didn't play GTA V last-gen so I'll be picking that up on PS4, maybe The Wolf Among Us too.
I've heard Gone Home, The Unfinished Swan and Papers Please are all getting PS4 releases so looking forward to those.
Night in the Woods looks incredible but don't think it's anywhere close to release yet.
Stuff a way off yet: Fallout 4, Uncharted 4, Tearaway, Grim Fandango, The Tomb Raider sequel, Silent Hills (maybe, if I'm brave enough), the new Batman, Bloodborne (Never played any Souls games before so interested in trying it).
Specially Cork wrote:What retro games are you playing? I'm currently doing all the Layton games...I guess the DS ones count as retro now?
I just finished up Majora's Mask, and had this urge to play through the Metal Gear series again. I'm currently near the end of the second one. As for handhelds, I just finished up Final Fantasy VI Advance about 3 weeks ago and am currently playing the final Layton, which is the most modern game I've played since Mario Kart 8 released.
