You really need to with Nier, though. It's... pretty impressive. And depressing as hell.BlueCrab wrote:If only I had the time to play through multiple playthroughs of a game. It's 3DS time! Such an awesome little console.
Mario & Luigi: Dream Team
Paper Mario: Sticker Star
Pokemon X
I've heard mixed things about Sticker Star, but as I've never played a Paper Mario before it seems like that's one of the biggest issues solved.
Still, these should keep me busy for a long time. At least until Zelda comes out.

Funnily enough I preferred Sticker Star to Dream Team, I 100 percented Sticker Star but found Dream Team a chore from pretty much the beginning and not just for the relentless hand-holding it's infamous for.

New Super Mario Bros. 2 (3DS)
Yeah, it's more of the same, but in this case, that's a good thing.
Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing: Transformed (Wii U)
This got absolutely stellar reviews, and given my love of both MarioKart and Sega franchises, I had to give it a shot. I was originally going to get the PS3 version so that I'd have a kart racer on that platform, but I ended up getting the Wii U version after hearing about the Wii U-exclusive Monkey Ball mode
The Wii U has actually become my "default" console for buying cross-platform titles that are otherwise more or less equal, in part because it needs the sales but mainly because I really like having the option of off-screen play. (Sony promised this with the PS3+PSP/Vita, but very few games actually took advantage of it. It looks like they're trying to fix that with the PS4, though.) And since the PS3 and Wii U are both connected to the same TV, and my fiance and I are both avid gamers, being able to play separate games simultaneously is a significant plus for us.
Wonderful 101 (Wii U)
...I'm still looking for a reasonably priced Virtual Boy, by the way. I bought one on eBay last month, but it arrived broken and I had to return it. I have pretty much all the games I want for it, but my system was lost during a move many years ago.

Watch Dogs has just been delayed 6 months, 1 month before release.
Pretty disappointing, was looking forward to that.

Batman Arkham Origins
It's a very lazy game in many ways - it's basically Arkham City again with recycled everything. But I love the boss fights. So rare these days to find a game with boss fights, let alone decent ones.

Assassin's Creed IV
It's actually very good. Back to 2 and Brotherhood standard - potentially the best in the series. It's still the same old, same old but oh my god it's lightyears ahead of 3.

Re: Post everytime that you buy a new game...
As we start the switch from one console generation to the next, it's time to start binge-purchasing discounted games that I never got around to. Here's the next crop:
Portal 2 (PS3)
Pandora's Tower (Wii)
Lost in Shadow (Wii)
At the same time, Eva bought The Last Story.

Humble Bundle Warner Bros
All ready played the batman games to death on Xbox but hadn't ever played any of the Scribblenauts game. Who couldn't enjoy a game that lets you summon a dead body to help frogger cross the stream?

Re: Post everytime that you buy a new game...
I've always struggled with Scribblenauts. It's so heavily built around using your imagination, but it never rewards you for it. The puzzle stages are just visualized word-games, and the action stages can be too easily beaten with obvious god items like a jet-pack.Veggita2099 wrote:Humble Bundle Warner Bros

Anyway, I bought:
Zelda: LBW
Steamworld Dig
Megaman 2
All on 3DS.
That's it for this year, excluding iOS stuff.
Next year is definitely a backlog clearing year. Can't see myself buying a new console for a while. Although, Mario is tempting me...

Got the special edition Zelda: Link Between Worlds and preordered a Retron 5. PS4 and XBox One are going to have to wait until there's something worth playing.

Re: Post everytime that you buy a new game...
Good call. Buying a console in its first year is usually a waste of money, particularly if it's not backwards-compatible. It's at its highest price point, its least refined iteration (only exception being the PS3, whose first form was its best), and you have the fewest games available, all of which are still at or near the full release price. Backwards compatibility can mitigate that somewhat, particularly if you're trying to keep your setup minimized, but for the most part there's really no point to early adoption unless the system has a strong launch lineup.
The Wii U and 3DS have been out 1 and 2 years, respectively, and they're both starting to hit their stride. The 3DS has a really nice catalog now, and the Wii U is building the start of a good catalog. Up until now, Eva and I have shared handhelds; she used my DS for most of its run until she got a 3DS, and I've used her 3DS when there games I wanted to play for that. And after getting an iPhone, I thought I was done buying handhelds. But there's enough good stuff for the 3DS that I may have to get my own, just so we're not competing for it all the time.
