I have a question about this server.
First a little background about me: I bought a Dreamcast a week after the US release of PSO Ep1 and played it EVERYDAY (seriously) up until about 6 months after Ep2's release. If that doesn't tell you everything you need to know about me, then I don't know what will.
My question is: How extensive is this servers Hunter Guild mission list? Is it the full content of the original Ep's or is it just a handful?

Re: I have a question about this server.
Well, each ship on the server defines its own quest list, so each ship can have whatever quests they want.
That said, on the whole, at least for English-language quests, all of the ships should have pretty much every quest that was available on Sega's server for the Dreamcast and PC versions of the game, perhaps missing a few season-specific quests here or there. Also, most of the ships have at least one new quest that wasn't on Sega's server.

Re: I have a question about this server.
Same goes for downloadable quests. We should have all of the English-language ones for Dreamcast v2 and PSOPC. Plus, we have a few new ones too, thanks in large part to Aleron Ives. ![Mr. Green ](./images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)

Re: I have a question about this server.
Is soul of blacksmith (jp) available? Last i played the jp version does have different rewards.
What about central dome fire swirl and sunset at secret base (jp), are those also available?
If so, do we need to change the languange to jp in order to download them?

Re: I have a question about this server.
On the Dreamcast, here's the Japanese quests available (only on v2):
And yes, you need to set your language to Japanese in the game to see them.
- 匠の魂
- ライオネルのメール
- 隠居ハンター
- PSOファミ通CUPver.2
- セントラルドームの炎渦
- 鋼の魂
- 夕焼けの秘密基地
And yes, you need to set your language to Japanese in the game to see them.

Re: I have a question about this server.
So to resume.
Soul of a blacksmith (jp and eng versions) is available on pc and dreamcast, altought the only one interesting here would be the jp version.
Central dome fire swirl is available on the pc and dreamcast.
Sunset at secret base is only available on the dreamcast under the japanese languange.

Re: I have a question about this server.
The God Hand, Suppressed Gun, and Technical Crozier rewards are present in the English Soul of a Blacksmith file, but Sega disabled them and used super awesome rewards like Frost Sword instead, because they hate Westerners. ![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
Famitsu Cup Ver.2 and Sunset at the Secret Base are exclusive to DC and require the game language to be set to Japanese to download and play them.

When you log onto the server, you should have the option to download the quests that are available in whatever language setting you have set.

Re: I have a question about this server.
Quests have plenty of text data which should be translated for different languages. Thus, both the server and the game separate things based on the language setting of the person playing.

Re: I have a question about this server.
Sega separated them by language to avoid DC bugs. Unlike players' speech bubbles, NPC speech bubbles don't have language codes in them, so if you play a Japanese quest when the game is not set to Japanese, the NPCs will speak gibberish. To prevent that, Sega set the game to only let you play quests whose language code matches your own. This isn't a problem on PC, but Sega didn't bother to remove the restriction.

Re: I have a question about this server.
On a related note i remember when i 1st played soul of a blacksmith in english, the quest worked fine and gave the junk items, however the 4th option made the npc speak nonsense (trust me, it wasn't in any languange know to man), i guess at the time someone forgot to translate the japanese text to english.

Re: I have a question about this server.
You must download quests from the server and save them to your memory cards first. Select the Download option when you go online instead of the Ship Select option, pick a quest, and then pick the memory card where you want to save it.
