Laptop ram question

Post by SuperMegatron »

My old laptop only supports 3gb of ram. I have 2 installed in a matching pair now. If I just buy a single 2 gb stick to upgrade will I lose performance vs buying a matched pair of 2gb. The machine will have 3gb of ram usable either way but was seeing if it was worth the extra $8.

Not a good idea. Why would you bother going from 2GB to 3GB anyway? I think it's time for a new machine.
