Short answer is there is no mugen for dreamcast

Long answer is if there was mugen for dreamcast it would be highly promoted and you would see a lot of it on dreamcast sites

And finally not to leave you empty handed. Have you tried beats of rage for dreamcast as that can fill your creative gap for fighting games.

Also, the Dreamcast doesn't have a DVD reader.

Sorry you don't like the answers given above, but you can't just "convert" a game to make it work on the Dreamcast. If it were that simple, a lot more people would be doing it.

I'm sure nobody means to discourage you, but we're just pointing out the facts. But look at it a different way. You were offered a pretty decent suggestion when LyonHurt said to check out Beats of Rage. You made a game once. I bet if you play with that engine a bit, you'll be able to make a great game that is in some ways similar to the one you just made that will run on a wide variety of platforms, and using a different tool might cause you to do something you wouldn't have thought of before.

ok thanks I will test this game ^ ^
I saw the game ... well that's not what I had in mind
win.mugen is a simple to use and create a game in style final fight
just change the music scenes, including skins of the characters have many characters already ready
I created a CDZ using winmugen but the question is ....
how to convert or cause the media to recognize the dreamcast?
the create of a game is simple to do the difficult thing is to recognize the dreamcast

no problem, and yes, anything other than a pc compatable computer, is always going to be tricky.
If you really really want to create something on pc, then transfer convert it to dreamcast, create a game using fenix that can then be used on dreamcast, ps2, pc, gp32 etc

that is all i can really say on the subject now.

Oh and if you do search for mugen, and bump a 10 year old topic, please make sure you don't rupture the time vortex, as i don't want to be bumping into my younger self....as i'm sure thats how the worlds going to end, it all starts with a flame war on december 21st 2012 on dcemulation...

I have to admit I havnt played with bor since it first came out all those years ago and openbor seems to have expanded on the complexity of the original.

Too bad over the years the Openbor scene slowly moved away from Dreamcast towards PSP in 2006 and then Windows from then on. I don't know if there is a recent version of Openbor for Dreamcast that runs stable, but even then most newer mods won't work as they were meant to be played on Windows PCs.

You can easily create a Dreamcast game using OpenBOR but you really have to be careful not to use features (like i.e. widescreen) that would make it incompatible to the current Dreamcast port of OpenBOR.

Personally I think it is best to start with a basic Beats of Rage mod and then enhance it with select features.

Captain Dreamcast is working on a 2D fighting engine for the Dreamcast called The Dolmexica Engine.

It will be much like Mugen in many ways, and better in some.

http://dreamcast-talk.com/forum/viewtop ... f=5&t=3320

There was even a beta released, but it was a pretty early build and very limited, but still gives you an idea of what to expect.
