Looks really well done, but you surely did a lot of video editing.
Are all of those light effects on the Dreamcast version as well?
It looks really fun, I'm looking forward to it.

Excellent stuff - the last few words have made my night! (about it not being the last FPS on Dreamcast).
I think you should do an AvP version next .

I have a feeling that this will eventually be announced as a commercial release...

Re: Hypertension [gameplay footage released!]
There's actually three more slots left. Go ahead and follow the link and emulate the instructions.
There's a few steps to take before you can download the game, but it's pretty simple - have fun playing it, and report any and all bugs/glitches in our bugtracker. This will help us fix things up to release on Dreamcast soon, as it's a PC-only test.
So if you and a few others from here (Juan should be interested I think) want to beta test it, I won't stop you

Re: Hypertension [gameplay footage released!]
Just a few updated shots. The rendering and game engine went through a ton since this was first announced so I wanted to show you all where we stand now.
In regards to Dreamcast, the decision was made to have Chilly handle the DC/multiplayer stuff, rather than Chui. I've also been doing heavy programming work to the engine in a last minute attempt to add things - the screenshot with the volumetric fog is one of them. Also got things like Quake 3 model and sky shader support and (hopefully) bounce pads from Rise of the Triad. It's an interesting project that gives me a break from Hyper.
Anyways, just wanted to drop by, feedback is appreciated!

Re: Hypertension [gameplay footage released!]
Looks nice, but I suppose the scope of a possible release has been pushed back?
Will the Dreamcast version of the engine ever be released on the Sourceforge site, and will it support the standard Doom wads if it is?

Re: Hypertension [gameplay footage released!]
Yes - we will release that part of the engine close to Hyper's release. Right now it's being written from scratch by Chilly.
Here's a new video showing off our Episode 2 arc before we scrapped it.

Unfortunately, it sucks, but most of the old team disbanded, and I chose to push it back just because it wasn't turning out how I wanted it to be. Also, because it was very buggy and "thrown together". It wasn't running great - which is why I took up the programming arm for the engine. More help is also a plus, though.Stryfe wrote:Looks nice, but I suppose the scope of a possible release has been pushed back?

Re: Hypertension [gameplay footage released!]
We were developing both of them in tandem, they both used the same codebase and everything, so we piggybacked most of it on what was already written. Unfortunately, this caused delays and problems in the code, as you can imagine. Since we recently agreed to scrap Episode 2 and save it after the first game is released, I thought it'd be a fun look for people who haven't seen much media centered around it.
