Re: Minecraft
The problem I'm in now, is I've built this awesome little base...but at the cost of plundering the surrounding area of all it's resources. I guess this offers some sort of reflection on the real world but...meh. I now have absolutely no reason to stay where I have built everything. So, I go somewhere else and start again - but that's kinda dull, and it's just going to reach the same end anyway. Plus if I die, I respawn in my original location, for that added kick in the balls.

Re: Minecraft
There are, essentially, two modes:Jeeba Jabba wrote:Can someone explain to me what this game is?
1. Free build mode: Players have unlimited to bricks and build whatever they want. It's like Blockland, but instead of legos, you place cubes.
2. Survival mode: The player spawns in the middle of a world. The primary goal is survive the monsters that spawn at night. To do so, you mine for minerals (e.g. iron, diamonds and coal) to build a safe haven. Once you're mining, you have to keep the caves lit else monsters will spawn and attack you. When you collect minerals, wood and other materials, you can "craft" tools and weapons to further your goals. There isn't a goal per se, other than not dying.

Re: Minecraft
OK, I did some mining and fell out the bottom of the world, thus losing everything I mined.
Fuck this game.

Re: Minecraft
I've only mined to the absolute limit once. I'm glad I didn't jump through. The worst is knocking out a wall, only to find a massive wall of lava, which fills the mine I just created.BoneyCork wrote:OK, I did some mining and fell out the bottom of the world, thus losing everything I mined.

Re: Minecraft
As much as it stinks to lose the area you mined its hilarious to have a wall of lava come at you.pixel wrote:I've only mined to the absolute limit once. I'm glad I didn't jump through. Re: Minecraft
Especially when you didn't plan an escape route. But I did find out you can place blocks inside the lava, thus producing a dam to control its flow.mrandyk wrote:As much as it stinks to lose the area you mined its hilarious to have a wall of lava come at you.pixel wrote:I've only mined to the absolute limit once. God, all I do at work now is think of Minecraft. I've doubled my addiction by using my second monitor to watch House M.D. and Squidbillies while I strip mine for precious resources. Please help me.
