Need freeware video editing software
Yes I do, im used to using premiere, where it shows each movie as a timeline bar (easy to make transitions flow), prefferably the closest to Adobe premiere as it can get.
Im trying a few from download.com, but with all my experience with it, it doesnt seem like the best place to get freeware. Im on XP by the way.

Re: Need freeware video editing software
It seems to me there was an entire Linux distro a few years ago built around media tasks. There was a version for music recording/editing, a version for photo manipulation and other digital still art, and a version for video editing (which, in addition to video tools, also contained custom-tweaked versions of programs like Gimp and Audacity to make them more suitable for video related tasks).
I'll see if I can find it.
EDIT: Not what I was originally talking about, but LiVES might fit the bill: http://lives.sourceforge.net/

Re: Need freeware video editing software
Kdenlive is by far the best I've tried on Linux. Haven't tried openshot, but it's supposed to be good as well.
Re: Need freeware video editing software
From what I've seen, the freeware video editing just can not come even close the quality of the pay products. If you're willing to pay for it, Vegas Premiere is relatively cheap (less than $100). It's basically the same as Vegas Pro, minus some of the more advanced features like track motion and velocity envelopes.
Sorry I couldn't really answer your question, just none of the free ones I've tried were worth it at all, and none had a Premiere style timeline.

Re: Need freeware video editing software
The only piece of video editing software I've ever seen that's worth a damn, that you didn't have to pay for directly is iMovie honestly.
