Yars Revenge and Demon Attack....
Two very enganging and challenging games for the 2600 that didnt need pretty graphics to keep a gamers' interest.

I am a gamer and I thought they were both shit. How do I fit in with your analysis?Smiley wrote:Two very enganging and challenging games for the 2600 that didnt need pretty graphics to keep a gamers' interest.

Re: Yars Revenge and Demon Attack....
I enjoyed Yar's Revenge quite a bit, but never liked Demon Attack. Yar's Revenge was good in that it took the standard 'go through a slot' sort of dexterity routine and combined it with a bit of shooty stuff (...iirc?). It was sort of hard to go back to though (other than for aesthetic appeal) after playing the first swordquest whose assorted challenges included all the bits of yar's revenge and more.

Me, I enjoyed Demon Attack quite a bit, but never liked Yar's Revenge. Then again, at the time I didn't know some far more intense shooters like Phoenix and Astroblast.

Phoenix was my absolute favorite. I probably spent a few hundred hours on it.Stormwatch wrote:Me, I enjoyed Demon Attack quite a bit, but never liked Yar's Revenge. Then again, at the time I didn't know some far more intense shooters like Phoenix and Astroblast.

I'm not a fan of any Atari games, and I dn't even believe there originally bankrupted empire should be counted as generation one systems.
