Windows 7 without a doubt.
I've been keeping up with the builds and I'm really impressed with how far its come from vista.

Whenever my computer build gets done, I will be more than glad to excersize my right to never have to use a Linux distro again.

Windows 7.

Considering that I write Linux applications for a living, and that I have a good number of applications that only work on Linux (including a rather large collection of scripts and small tools I wrote), probably either Ubuntu (for working), or Mac OS X (for almost everything else).

Although a Linux version of Paint.NET and TortoiseSVN (NautilusSVN isn't quite there yet) would be welcome...

I voted XP since that's most likely, but Linux is also a possibility depending on how the new open-source video driver stack shakes out. I wouldn't rule out Windows 7, but I just don't see any strong reason to upgrade. I don't play 3D-heavy PC games, so DirectX 10/11 aren't much of a draw (has anything even been released that requires DX10 yet?). The only reason I can think of that I'd upgrade is if companies generally stopped supporting XP with new drivers and apps. That's bound to happen eventually, but I doubt it'll happen for several more years at least.

I'm running the beta of Windows 7 right now, and I dropped $150 to preorder 3 copies of it when it releases in October.

So yeah...

My girlfriend and I are both Mac users, and given the extremely low price, we'll probably be on Snow Leopard next year.

At work, however, I have a 6- or 7-year-old Dell running XP. (The school district has actually instituted a ban on Vista, since several of our vital, proprietary programs don't work on it. We're migrating to a web-based data system, but it's a slow process). And, given California's budget condition, we probably won't be replacing any of our computers any time soon... or even considering a jump to Windows 7 for at least a couple of years. So I'd imagine it will continue to be XP at work.

Windows 7 RC is my OS of choice right now, and I'll be buying my copy before the end of the year. It's just been fantastic for me from the moment I started using it.

I may upgrade to Windows 7 eventually.

As of right now, I currently dual-boot Windows XP Pro SP3 and Windows Server 2003 EE SP2 on my hard drive.

Same as now: Mac OS X, plus the occasional boot into XP if a game requires.

Who knows, if I get the money, I could buy an actual Macintosh. :P

Linux for sure. After a short period of using Mac I switched back to Linux and I'm very happy with it now.

Maybe I'll check out Chrome OS, but for sure I'll keep my SUSE.

Currently running Mac OS X Snow Leopard Developer's Preview. In one year from now, I'll be running the stable final version.
It's thinking...

Most likely still Linux Mint, with the occasional boot into Vista (mostly for iTunes).

At work, I'll be using Vista.
