Games you're waiting for on Virtual Console...
Any particular games you've been waiting to snap up on Virtual Console? It seems like it's been a long, slow trickle of crap nobody's heard of or cares about in recent months, though I have enjoyed playing through Super Mario RPG.
There are several others that are already available more economically, and don't make much sense to buy on VC (such as the Megaman/Megaman X games, the Sonic games, the Metal Slug series, etc., which are available pretty cheaply in anthologies). There are many other games that probably won't ever come out, due to the complicated loopholes of being licensed properties (Goldeneye, Batman: Return of the Joker, Super Return of the Jedi, etc.)
However, there are several things I'd buy instantly if they showed up on VC. Sticking to systems that are already supported by VC, here's my list of "buy instantly" titles:
NES
Batman: Return of the Joker*
Bionic Commando
Chip & Dale's Rescue Rangers*
Contra
TMNT2*
MasterSystem
Golden Axe Warrior
Zillion
SNES
ChronoTrigger
Earthbound
Megaman & Bass
Pocky & Rocky
StarFox
Super Mario Kart
Super Return of the Jedi*
Yoshi's Island
Zombies Ate My Neighbors
Genesis
Aladdin*
Castlevania Bloodlines
Contra: Hard Corps
Jurassic Park*
Knuckles Chaotix
Shinobi
Return of Shinobi
Shinobi 3
Sonic CD
TG-16
Dracula X
N64
Banjo-Kazooie*
Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness
Conker's Bad Fur Day*
Diddy Kong Racing
Goldeneye*
Homeworld
Rayman 2
Shadows of the Empire*
Super Smash Bros.
* not likely to ever come out
Of course, I'd love to see the Gameboy line added as well... but that's a whole separate thing. Just as I'd like to see Saturn added. I can understand why that probably won't ever happen, though.

I'm a little surprised Smash Bros hasn't come out yet. I figured it would follow up the launch of Brawl.
As for the games I want, Earthbound is pretty much it. Now that Mario RPG is out, it's the last big release I really want. Well, that and Blast Corps.

I wonder if they'd ever release Majora's Mask and Donkey Kong 64.
I know that emulating them wouldn't be all that hard on the Wii considering they emulated Majora's Mask pretty well on Gamecube.
As for Sonic CD, there is Sonic Gems Collection. I'd find the Japanese version, though (Japanese Sonic CD soundtrack, Streets of Rage 1-3/Bonanza Bros).

While the bonuses on the Japanese release of Sonic Gems are cool, I actually think the American Sonic CD soundtrack fits the gameplay much better.

There's a Smash Bros. WAD you can download, someone injected it into another N64 VC WAD. You'll need a modded Wii of course. Game works perfectly minus a few sprite glitches here and there.

Re: Games you're waiting for on Virtual Console...
My absolute must have game came out last week, Super Punchout. Now my top request would be Super Mario Kart, it was so much better than the n64 and gamecube versions (havent played the wii one).

Re: Games you're waiting for on Virtual Console...
The Wii one's got all the mechanics down pretty well, but there's not really anything "new" feeling about it. Have you played the DS one? Get rid of the ability to snake, and you've pretty much got the Wii version. Think N64 play mechanics with a better scoring system, and the additional items that have been introduced since then. The SNES version still has the best Battle Mode, though.mrandyk wrote:My absolute must have game came out last week, Super Punchout. Re: Games you're waiting for on Virtual Console...
I do have the DS one and it is wonderful, but I would rather play the SNES one perhaps just because of the nostalgia. What I really enjoy about the SNES one is the magnificent battle mode, the difficulty gets really high but it isnt like what Ive heard about the wii version where it is blue shells up the ass if you get into first, and it is pretty simple. I dont have 20 characters and as many more carts to pick from, I just want to race. And the Ghost Valley tracks and their shortcuts that require feathers are awesome.

You'd think considering I waited in like 14 hours on launch day to get it, I would have held on longer.

Re: Games you're waiting for on Virtual Console...
Exactly. I thought it would be great getting all the Wii games I wanted for free, then once I got everything ready on my Wii I realized that the only game I wanted to try was Wii Music. Its sort of cool to play some emulators on it though I guess.Hasney wrote:Yes you can. Yea I stopped playing that game very quickly. At least the new Punchout comes out soon.Hasney wrote:I take it you haven't tried it yet, due to you not killing yourself yet.mrandyk wrote:Exactly.
