Re: PSO Questions & Answers
The /restore command is essentially the server intentionally NOLing your character, except instead of overwriting your character with an NPC from the offline quests, it overwrites your character with data you stored on the server previously with /save. Sega fixed the NPC overwrite exploit on GC to stop people from maliciously NOLing each other, so /restore doesn't work anymore, either. As BlueCrab said, you can /save if you want, but you have no way to use the saved data.

Re: PSO Questions & Answers
I recently bought a device for connecting a SD card to my Gamecube and boot software from it.
See this thread: viewtopic.php?f=75&t=103477
Using that I'm backing up my files rather regularly now because it's so very easy.
I don't think that any other method could be less complicated. Even duping takes a few minutes to understand althought it requires no additional software or hardware of course.

Re: PSO Questions & Answers
Has the server side saved data been deleted? I'm unable to /restore my old saves. It's saying no character data found.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: PSO Questions & Answers
If you're using a new Dreamcast, your Guild Card number probably changed and is preventing you from accessing your saves, unless saves can be restored onto any Guild Card tied to the account.

Re: PSO Questions & Answers
If you can find your old Guild Card number, BlueCrab could change it back for you, and then you might be able to access your saves.

Re: PSO Questions & Answers
That's what happens when I reply when half asleep...
I'll switch up the guildcard numbers in a few minutes.
EDIT: Done. 14687 is no longer in the database, and 11633 should work on any Dreamcast that you might use your serial number/access key on in the future.

Re: PSO Questions & Answers
When your character dies in GC version of PSO, does meseta fully dissapears or it will stay on the ground? It feels like an emulation error to me. (in which case I'll go to Dolphin's forum)

Re: PSO Questions & Answers
Every time you die your weapon unequips and your Mag loses 5% Synchro. If you revive with a Scape Doll or from your teammates' help, you keep your Meseta. If you return to the hospital on Pioneer 2, all the Meseta you were carrying is permanently deleted as a death penalty. It is not a bug. You must either keep your Meseta in the bank, leave it on the ground, carry Scape Dolls, or soft reset to quit the game when you die to avoid losing your Meseta.

Aha, I see. Thanks for clearing this out for me. I suppose it's even more interesting then in another versions, a little bit of difficulty is fine by me. Was used to v2/PC and BB, where you keep your meseta, or at least you can get it back when it drops on the ground.

Re: PSO Questions & Answers
BB changed the death penalty yet again. You no longer unequip your weapon or lose your Meseta, but your Mag still loses 5% Synchro for every death. After you hit level 20 or so, you would also lose a small percentage of your EXP for every death, such that if you died enough times, you would unacquire all the EXP you earned since reaching your current level and would have to get the EXP all over again. A single death at level 199 would probably set you back by over 100 000 EXP, lol. None of the private BB servers implement this penalty, though, so BB has perhaps the smallest death penalty of the available versions today.

Note to self: Make sure to do this, for extra authenticity.Aleron Ives wrote:BB changed the death penalty yet again. Re: PSO Questions & Answers
Losing Exp for every death is painful, but hey at least you don't lose a level when you die back at 0 % like in Lineage II ^_-
Though with good enough rares I should think dying is a feat at level 199 in BlueBurst ?

Re: PSO Questions & Answers
Nobody played PW4 on BB because all the instant death enemies made it impossible to level up.

Re: PSO Questions & Answers
Hi everyone, I have a quick question. I am trying to set up my friend to play PSO GC. I have a spare PSO 1&2 PLUS disc I bought on ebay, just the disc. I plan on giving her that disc to play on her Gamecube. I dont have a serial code/ access key for that disc BUT I do have another spare copy of PSO 1&2 for GC with a valid serial code/access key.
Would it be a problem if she uses a serial code and key for regular PSO 1&2 with a PSO 1&2 Plus disc? Hopefully this question isnt too confusing. If it is not compatible, ill just have her play with the PSO1&2. I prefer the Plus version because it doesnt have the double save as the first one does, but Im fine with it to make it work! Thank you ahead of time!
