AMEBA & Xenocider coming to Dreamcast and Saturn

Post by Christuserloeser »

via dreamcastjunkyard.co.uk

Spanish indie developer Retro Sumus came to the fore in late 2014 when new Dreamcast-bound visual novel AMEBA was announced. Since then, work has been progressing steadily behind the scenes and we decided it was about time that we uncovered just what Retro Sumus is all about. In this exclusive interview with lead writer Carlos Oliveros, we find out a little more about the team, AMEBA and discover that there’s another extremely promising (and previously unannounced) Dreamcast game on the horizon…

Dev Diaries #2!

Contrary to what is common in the video game and movie industries, composer Juanjo Martín has been there since the very first moment the plot for AMEBA was being planned. Which means he contributed some ideas for the main characters. This is what happens when Juanjo and Carlos meet for a late night brainstorming session…

Daniel Horvath aka 108stars, who did the pixel art for Pier Solar, interviewed me the other day for NexGam. The interview was conducted in english but there's also a german translation (as the website's in german, obiously). A couple new details emerge. You can read it here:
http://www.nexgam.de/Dreamcast-Saturn/I ... Sumus.html

Pages 1-2 are in german, 3-4 in english.

Hope you like it! :)

I wonder if anyone here has actually listened to the podcast... xD

Just in case, you can listen to it here:
http://retrosumus.com/2015/12/dreamcast ... xenocider/

And if you speak spanish, we talk Ameba and Xenocider here as well:
http://retrosumus.com/2015/12/entrevist ... rol-games/

:)

What's the big news? Well, as you know, Ameba will be released for the Saturn as well. But the new details are: we are releasing the game in a cardboard box similar to the classic japanese ones which included game+cart. Why? Because we are using a custom cart too! :D

Dev Diaries #06 - The Morning After

Someone just passed away. Someone close to our main character Hugo. He returns home feeling devastated, but also somewhat relieved. It’s the morning after, and he has a new lead on the killer. His friend’s death may have not been in vain.
