OpenBoR v2.0052

Post by Christuserloeser » Sun Dec 24, 2006 6:56 pm

SamuraiX released a great new version of OpenBoR v2.0052. This time again with a lots of bugs fixed in all ports, and:
---> Dreamcast File Selector!!!!
---> Dreamcast PackListCreator v0.2

So here's how to create your own BoR collection:

1. All executables, all your favorite mods (.PAK files) and MENU.PAK need to be in the same directory!

2. Run PackListCreator.exe.

3. Burn with BootDreams.

- Don't forget to copy either /PAL/1st_read.bin or /NTSC/1st_read.bin into the directory with your PAKs!

...but this isn't the only news in OpenBoR! There were some interesting changes in the Dreamcast port during the past few weeks and months:

- Fixed 4 player support
- Much improved performance (stable Framerate)
- Sprite Database Management (Saves up to 8+ MByte of RAM per mod!)

That means it now basicly runs ALL existing BoR mods from start to end without the RAM saving option enabled! :)
SamuraiX wrote:There have been quite a few additions in features. But only if you are a modder. However, PSP and DC users will appreciate one of the new features I've implemented and that is....

Sprite Database Management: Modders tend to reuse sprites such as walking, running, etc... over and over and instead of allocating space for every sprite I now reuse the original sprite and its ID. So what does this mean to you then gamer....

2MBytes of RAM has been saved on mods like Final Fight Appocolypse 2nd and Battle Toads. However, on a huge mod like A Tale Of Vengence we are saving 8MBytes of memory.

Lastly, a lot of bug fixes have been done. If you find a bug then please post it at http://www.borgeneration.com/ where you can also find the weekly updates to the engine and all the mods you can handle.

Someone deleted my other post, so here it is, but filtered.

When clicking on the direct links on DCEMU, I get sent to a possibly offensive picture (at least the name is offensive). Therefore, I suggest everyone go to the BorGeneration forums to download the stuff.
