Which might explain why people don't buy Bon Jovi or Def Leppard albums anymore?JKKDARK wrote:Of course, when you don't have talent you can't expect people will buy your musicmelancholy wrote:JKKDARK wrote:Sorry but $5 is not free.melancholy wrote:they have uploaded the first volume, Ghosts I, onto several torrent sites as well as their own site.

I hope you're doing a joke, because Bon Jovi still sell millions. Their latest album, released in 2007, debuted #1 at the Billboard 200 and got Platinum status already, and sold 3.1 million units worldwide.
Both bands are on major labels and still get certifications worldwide.
Also don't forget these two bands play Hard Rock, which is not the dominant Rock music since 1992.
Nine Inch Nails has Alternative Rock elements, and it's is the dominant Rock music actually. If this band can't sell now, wow.

Re: Free downloads of Nine Inch Nails new album
Because the majority of the world is made up of stupid people... not to mention people stuck in the past that can't get past their 'glory days'. Saying that the Billboard 200 matters at all is one of the most idiotic things that I've ever seen. It sells a lot because it has mass appeal, and with generic sounds one can do that. Just look at Nickelback for a modern day example.JKKDARK wrote:Great, I'm going to own someone here finallyLuriden wrote:Which might explain why people don't buy Bon Jovi or Def Leppard albums anymore?JKKDARK wrote:Of course, when you don't have talent you can't expect people will buy your musicmelancholy wrote:JKKDARK wrote:Sorry but $5 is not free.melancholy wrote:they have uploaded the first volume, Ghosts I, onto several torrent sites as well as their own site.

Hard Rock hasn't mass appeal anymore, we are not in 1988 my friendMulletMan13 wrote:Because the majority of the world is made up of stupid people... not to mention people stuck in the past that can't get past their 'glory days'. Nickelback plays Alternative Rock, so it's normal to see this band being popular on this era of music. If we were 20 years ago, this band wouldn't even get a major label.

I don't see why you, JKKDARK, turn every topic about music into some trolling rant about 80's glam metal. We get it, you like that more than today's music, but you don't have to tell us in every music topic that pops up.

Read the thread again. I didn't start to talk about any other band besides the one on the thread title.Thomas wrote:I don't see why you, JKKDARK, turn every topic about music into some trolling rant about 80's glam metal. Right because when I think Hard Rock I think of lyrics like "When the world gets in my face, I say, Have A Nice Day."JKKDARK wrote:Also don't forget these two bands play Hard Rock,
Seriously, that's about as hard rock as Enya.

Re: Free downloads of Nine Inch Nails new album
Lyrics has nothing to do with the genre, it's about the music elements. Didn't you notice how Poison, White Lion and Van Halen have different lyrics but they are all Hard Rock bands?Kevin Beckman wrote:Right because when I think Hard Rock I think of lyrics like "When the world gets in my face, I say, Have A Nice Day."JKKDARK wrote:Also don't forget these two bands play Hard Rock,

Re: Free downloads of Nine Inch Nails new album
Yeah, I hardly think I'd call 1988 the pinnacle year for hard rock. Bands like Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath would chew up Bon Jovi and spit out their glam bones.Kevin Beckman wrote:Right because when I think Hard Rock I think of lyrics like "When the world gets in my face, I say, Have A Nice Day."JKKDARK wrote:Also don't forget these two bands play Hard Rock,

While we're having this hate in '08 fest, KISS sucks. I needed to say that.

I'm guessing it's because people don't like to have their ears raped.
