Goddamn was I naive
viewtopic.php?f=34&t=45369
I actually thought this was going to happen. I even had a team assembled with a programmer and a couple of 3D modelers, but the "programmer" disappeared before ever producing any work
I did promise at one point that I wouldn't leave the scene until the project was finished, though, so I guess I'm stuck here

You know, you could always edit the name, story line and game outline...DaMadFiddler wrote: I did promise at one point that I wouldn't leave the scene until the project was finished, though, so I guess I'm stuck here

Re: Goddamn was I naive
We all looked at the scene with rose-tinted glasses back then. It's 2011 now, and even the commercial homebrew scene hasn't managed to release a DC game with the scope that we thought possible.

You weren't naive, you were just a Brazilian game designer.
99% of them are like that over here, the rest flew out of the country.

True -- although I'd say Team Senile and NG:DEV.TEAM did some quite nice titles, and Sturmwind is looking kickasstastic. Perhaps the problem is, people dreamt too big? I mean, a "metroidvania" must be quite harder to make than a traditional, linear platformer like the old "true Castlevania" games. And that's a genre that's pretty much absent from the Dreamcast's library, damnit! Someone make me an old school platformer, stat!BoneyCork wrote:We all looked at the scene with rose-tinted glasses back then. I'm sure the team behind DCEMU RPG could help. … Where's Roofus?BlueCrab wrote:QFT.DanteJay wrote:You know, you could always edit the name, story line and game outline...DaMadFiddler wrote: I did promise at one point that I wouldn't leave the scene until the project was finished, though, so I guess I'm stuck here

Re: Goddamn was I naive
I'm personally very pissed off that Yu Suzuki left Shenmue to the homebrew community and nobody could be bothered finishing it off.
